Washer would not drain after wash cycle. Would start to try but stop dead.
Repair went well and relatively easy, but did not fix the problem. Suspect timer switch was the culprit. Nothing was clogged or plugged up. Water pump and impeller were free and clear with no damage or leaks.
could not get the bottom agitator to release, so finally just left it in place, first bolt I had did not fit right so ordered one directly from your store also had to wait dor my tools to get in
I am an old woman who is disabled and without any tools or knowledge, but sheer stubbornness and will power, I waited for my tools and other parts to come in, in the mean time I fixed my young neighbors whirlpool washer, well We took top off the nut I had already pre assembled her cam so set it in place of old one put bolt back in place and the top of agitator she says works perfectly now, my parts came in I had nothing to remove as my handicap daughter had already thrown away all the loose parts, I threw away old top agitator, assembled cam and put in place still did not feel tight enough so added seal from other nut!! it worked tight enough, put the inner part back in with new part and soap put the top back on and now works good as new, was disappointed could not put bottom agitator in place, just not strong enough lol well this was my story
I never have and never will claim to be a mechanic. my wife said it had to be the lid switch. After opening and closing the lid I agreed. Took 2 screws out of back of top panel lifted control panel out of way and there was the lid switch just as part select custumers had said. $100 repairman fix, and I fixed it for a little over $20.
The repair was simple as you can imagine. Thought I could buy these legs at any big box store or at least at the local hardware store. No such luck. Partselect had the right product---easy to order and easy to install. Things around here are great.
I the took washer to where I could lay it on its side. Laying it on its side lets the suspension spring at the top go slack. Making pulling it from bracket easier. Next , I lifted the tub up with a 2x4 and blocked it with another wood block. This let me have slack in the lower springs. Of coarse I saved the hardest one (behind the motor) for last. I only swore a little! But got it to come out. By the way, put in each new spring, before going on to the next one. The new springs helped a lot, but I ended up ordering the wear pads a day or two later. They were very easy to replace. Just pop the old ones out of the frame with a screw driver. then pop the new ones back into the holes and you are done. You may just want to buy them both and do it all at once. Saving moving the washer twice!
oyter tub leaking found a nail in bottom of inter tub ,rubbed a hole in inter tub
removed the controll panel,removed back. ,and then top ,and sides. pryed top off adjtater take out bolt in center ,remove top ring of outer tud,remove adjatater and large nut and coller,take off drain hose lift out outer tub and seal,. put new seal in new tub install in reverse order . hardest part was geting sides lined up
