old pump had plasitc fatigue allowing water to leak from drain pump. Noticed new oem pump was reinforced in that spot, so must be common problem. new pump came with heat shield that old pump did not have, not a problem though. Placed washer on front side down on floor. removed old pump, installed new pump

Water would not drain from tub.
Used shop vac to remove as much water as possible. Turned washing machine on side to access pump. Removed old pump. Installed new pump. Used nutdriver to attach three fasteners and pliers to attach clamps to hoses.

1st watch a video on replacement of this pump. My main issue was the guard I had to install and the correct way to put it in. I know I got it right. The pump is very noisy, loud! It pumps out just fine. Want to know if this is normal, Loud pump. Let me know. Thanks, Dave

the drain pump leaked water
fairly simple remove and put back in …I watched a video of a similar Maytag pump replace got some tips…the electoral connection is shielded by a pull up tab…so it was quite simple I got extra hose clamps in case?…didn’t need them

coin in drain pump put a hole in casing
unscrew all the screws on the back of your cabrio washer just the bottom portion to access the drain pump which is located on bottom left underside of the wash drum, the drum on mine is plastic or plastic shroud i guess , theres 3 screws that hold the pump into place, also 2 hose clamps, and the power source, the cap that covers the power

Read more source is a bit of a pain to unsnap do this part last cause you'll be able to pull it out from under the drum and get to it easier. once the pump is free just do everything in reverse and you'll be good to go in about 30 to 40 mins . one more thing dont try to caulk or seal on the one thats broke its a lost cause just replace it and make sure like i have been lol no coins left in your pockets before they get washed......whirlpool cabrio other number i got off sticker besides model number is type 580 hope this is helpfull

remove back cover plate to access pump replacement of the pump is rather simple the time consumption was because when I examined the pump I found a nickel which wiped out the impeller on the pump after further examination I found other small change in the suction side of the pump unit As a result of this I had to remove the barrel to fur

This is the second time that I had to replace this pump. The plastic pumps do not handle pocket change very well.Unplug machine,disconnect water lines and discharge flex hose.Tip machine over to front side to gain access to pump.Remove back panel of washer(8 screws). Remove the three screws and hose clamps.Unplug power to pump. Look for c

Read moreoins in pump and in bottom of washer tub.Remove coins if you can.Install new pump and replace back panel.Tip machine back up right.To make sure that I had removed all coins I had to remove stainless steel tub.Use putty knife to release clips that hold the top of washer.These are about 6" in from both sides of front .Push in and lift top away and back.Remove plastic around out side of basket.It just snaps off. Pry off center cap in bottom of basket. Remove nut with socket wrench.It might be pretty snug.Lift out basket. This might be snug also but it will come out.Now you have access to whatever may be entering your pump. I found a quarter and a penny . Remove plastic cover at bottom of tub (2 screws). This is where I found the penny.Good time to clean washer is now. Mine was really scuzzy.Put everything back together and you are good to go.Make sure to check pockets for that loose change,so you don't have to do this a second time.

I am looking for a part : Drain pump. But as i am searching i see there is a "drain pump" and a "water pump circulator". I am searching for a friend so i am unsure which part that i actually need. Question: Are these the same parts? Or is one different from the other. They both look similar in the photos.

My Whirlpool washer yesterday washed a heavy load and did not completely unload and gave an Ld code. After stopping and starting about 3 times I got it to finish. There was dirt in the bottom of washer. I ran the wash again and was able to finish the wash. I then ran a lite color load and no problem. I went to run a heavy load this morning of jeans and shirts and the same thing happened as it did yesterday. Took load out of wash and got as much water out as could and turned on its side . Took unload pump off with no obstructions noted. I then took the hose off to check the impeller and nothing was noted. I was able to turn the impeller but had a little resistance at one point each time it turned. It would go past and about another half turn the same resistance. It did not matter which way it was turned, like a gasoline engine with a spark plug in. Can you help?

Thanks for your question. This error code will appear if unit takes longer than 5 minutes to pump out water to the point where the pressure switch resets. Press 'Stop/Cancel' to clear display. You may want to test your drain pump with a multimeter as well to see if it has electrical continuity, but since there is little resistance that would already be a sign that the impeller is failing, and as such should be a cause to replace the pump.

Hi Darryn, Thank you for the question. It is actually common for coins or small objects to become lodged in the pump. Most times you can remove the pump and remove the object, hopefully before it has caused damage to the impeller. Hope this helps!

Is there a replacement part for just the pump hose housing? Pump works fine the hose clamp housing has been cracked by coins.

Thank you for the question. Very sorry but I am showing the manufacture only sells the housing as part of the pump assembly, so you will need to order a full new pump.

Drain pump motor runs but it does not pump water out. Could the impeller be loosed? No blockage seen. Sd code given.

Hi Justin, Thank you for the question. The Sd error code indicates the Suds Lock (overdose of detergent detected during the wash cycle). If the problem continues after the correct amount and correct type of detergent is being used, I suggest running a "Clean Washer" cycle to remove detergent that might have built up in the washer. Machine did fill did not agitate 35 min later the water was still in the drum, when unplugged then plugged in there was a mummming noise nothing happen can you tell me if its the pump or the board

I purchased an oem part w10536347 thru another site, and it didn't come with the shield. Almost all of the sellers of this part don't offer it with a shield. How important is the shield? I am not able to buy it separately. My understanding is it is a waterproof shield to keep any water from falling on the pump. But why would any water drip on the pump?

The machine is making roaring noise when in the spin cycle. I replaced the suspension springs and the basket hub assembly. Still makes the same sound. The tub does not shake. I see where a noisy unit can be caused by the pump. Do you believe that will solve the noisy problem? I bought the sensor but have not installed it yet. Considering ordering the pump and replacing them at the same time.

The most likely issue would be the Tub Seal and Bearing Kit PartSelect Number PS3503261.This kit includes the shaft, 3 bearings, seals, grease, adhesive, and the spanner nut, which is NOT sold separately. Also, may require a bearing driver tool to install. PS3503307 After that the Pump PartSelect Number PS5136124 would we the next part to try. We hope this helps.

If this is not the issue, we suggest replacing the drain pump, part PS11743017, to solve the problem. It removes water from the washer during the drain portion of the cycle. Glad to be of help!
