LOWER SPRAY ARM Specifications

Please be informed that this OEM-verified part that DOES NOT come with the heatshield, as per GE directly and are no longer required. This lower spray arm assembly is an essential component of your dishwasher, responsible for distributing water and detergent evenly during the wash cycle. Positioned at the bottom of the appliance, it spins to spray water in multiple directions, ensuring thorough cleaning of all dishes. A damaged spray arm can lead to poor cleaning results, leftover food residue, and even unpleasant odors. Common signs of failure include knocking sounds, wobbling, or restricted rotation. Replacing this part restores proper performance and prevents buildup that can cause bad smells. Installation is simple: release the locking mechanism, lift out the old arm, and secure the new one in place.

Water leak corners of door onto the floor
After hours looking for problem. I tried cleaning door gasket. Did not stop leak. Looked at lower water spray arm and it was split. It is literally a 2 minute repair to remove and install. Knock on wood, no leaks in the last 10 washes.

Thumping Sound during the WashRinse cycles
Chances are your Lower spray arm is worn or jets are off. Replacing this part is very easy. Grab the base of the lower spray arm, twist and pull straight up. Place the new one in and twist lock in place. Repair complete!

Lower spray arm locking lugs had worn and it would pop off when the dishwasher was in use. It fell on the heating element during the dry cycle and a hole was melted through it.
I took out the old one and simply inserted the replacement. It was an exact replacement part and thus a perfect fit. Dishwasher is working fine now! Cost was around $40 (shipped) which I thought was reasonable.

Loud knocking. Sounds like plate banging against other plates or side of dish washer.
1) Pull out lower basket plate holder out. Now would be a good time to check roller wheels. 2) Grasp lower spray arm base (knurled collar on base) and turn counter clockwise to release. 3) Install new spray arm and turn knurled collar on base clockwise to lock it in. 4) Reinstall lower basket plate holder.

Spray arm had become unattached and burned by the heat element
It was a simple as: attach and done!
There is a ring on the part that tightens clockwise to the nipple that sprays out the water that it rests on. Twist clockwise and you are done!
It is a mystery how it was unattached to begin with but not a problem in the end, it was easy to fix!

Thanks for sending genuine GE parts!
