Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This door lock latch assembly is a genuine OEM replacement part designed to secure the door during operation and ensure the appliance detects when the door is properly closed. It plays a critical role in both safety and functionality, preventing the door from opening mid-cycle and allowing the machine to initiate washing or drying. Constructed for durability and precision, it is ideal for replacing a worn or broken latch that causes issues such as the door not staying closed or the unit failing to start. Installation typically involves accessing the door mechanism and following the appliance’s service manual for proper alignment and connection. Always verify compatibility with your specific model before ordering.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money

Door needs excessive force to get door locked to start the wash cycle
For model number mah5500bww
Hello George and thanks for writing.
Yes, that seems to be a sign off the door lock latch failing. You want to replace this as soon as possible as the excessive force needed to close this door might damage other parts as well. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime.

what's the difference between the door latch assembly & the door lock latch ?
I have pulled on the neon coloured wire & was able to close it once, but since have not been able to close the door fully to start the machine.
Not sure which I should order
For model number MAH5500BWW
Hi Carmel, thank you for reaching out. We have researched and found that both of the parts are for the different series. The door latch assembly, part number PS11739444, is for the series 10, and the door lock latch, part number PS11739531, is for the series B4. You may need to order the compatible one to fix the issue. We hope that helps!
