unsrewed the bottom of the microwave(there was about five or six screws)located the motor unpluged it and unscrewed the two screws holding the motor once installed i reversed the proceedure and put everything back together...simple as 1,2,3...
I removed the microwave oven from the wall by unscrewing a trim plate or frame that surrounds the face of the oven. Pulled the oven out of the cabinet. Removed the glass cooking tray and rollers from the oven interior. Turned the oven on its side to expose the bottom. I unscrewed the small cover plate in the middle of the bottom which exposed the turn table motor. The motor was attached by two screws and a connector plug. In a couple minutes I removed the motor and replaced it with the new one and reassembled the oven. I put it back in the cabinet and it works like new again.
Took the bottom of microwave off unplugged motor replaced it with new one (two screws) plugged it in replaced bottom and ther you go saved $240.00 over the local appliance repair company. Thanks Mike,
Nice. Half dozen screws drops the bottom, 2 screws on the motor, pop in the new, reassemble and throw in the popcorn. (Was skeptical. Have replaced quite a few of these little motors in data centers. Common part in high-speed printers. Never saw one fail like this but your feedback convinced me otherwise.)
Very easy repair I did not even have to take the microwave down. Just removed the 7 screws, the bottom swung down removed the 2 screws holding the motor, unplugged it put the new one in put the screws back and Done.
took off steel plate---removed two screws--unpluged drive motor--replaced with new drive motor. reversed removal procedure . Took about 10 minutes. Great service from PARTSELECT.
took screws out of bottom of microwave.dropped down bottom cover to get at drive motor I took out one screw droped down cooking tray motor disconnnected 2 wires reconnected put back up and put 1 screw in ,fastened bottom and was fixed very easy ,and parts select is the best place to find what you are looking for if I ever need parts this is where I will order from service is great and only took about 2 days to receive my part .I went to store where I bought my microwave and they wanted to sell me a new one.saved over $200
Disconnect the power to the microwave Remove the (7) screws from the bottom panel Disconnect the wires from the old Drive Motor Remove the retaining screws of the drive motor Then install the new drive motor in the reverse order
As in other postings, remove six screws on the bottom of the microwave, disconnected the the plug,unscrew two screws to remove the old motor...(it took longer to get the new part out its box then it did to make the repair) unpacked the new part, put in the two motor screws, put in the six screws to hold the microwave bottom in place and waalaa...done! the tray started running slower to where it would not turn
about 6 philips head screws along the bottom drops that cover off. 2 more hold the motor in place.
carefully remove the 2 wire plug onto the motor . do not touch or get near the black wire.unless you want to get shocked.like i did.
remove the 2 motor screws.put the new one up and turn untill the screw holes are the holes in the lower inner cover. reinstall the screws .reinstall the plug and lower plate.
having been a auto mechanic till i retired, helped me a lot.total time to make the repair was about 15 min.
this is not my first order from parts select and all i can say is they rock with the best of service i have ever gotten for appliance parts. and prices one can not found to beat for factory parts.
Original drive motor was making noise and not turning the glass cooking tray.
I removed the five screws that held the bottom plate in place. After removing the bottom plate, I unscrewed the one screw holding the drive motor, unplugged the motor, and then installed the new motor. Replaced the botton plate and then tested the new motor. Everything worked like new.
The part was less expensive than buying it from GE. I ordered the motor on a Monday morning and received it Wednesday afternoon. I was completely satisified with the price, part, and shipping time.
This was so easy. I'm really glad I did not call a repairman!
Removed six screws that allowed the "bottom" to swing down; then removed the two screws holding the motor - disconnected the two wires. Installed the motor and reversed this procedure to finish the project.
