With new replacement grill, a separate clip was supplied in the box that had to be screwed in to the top portion. This clip did not fit since the hole for the screw was on the right side and not the left, so I just snapped the grill in place with the existing clips. There must be another clip that fits this unit but perhaps the person packing the box grabbed the wrong clip and taped it in with the shipped box.
Broken plastic parts prohibiting the grill from staying in place
I called my brother, he is much more proficient with reading instructions and figuring out how they go together,! He had it done in less than 30 mins.! I love my brother!!!
After removing the over-the-range unit (no small feat!) I had to figure out how to open the case (good puzzle!). Capacitor had already discharged, so it was very easy to reach in, pop the old fuse and install the new one! As per your advice, I found out I was a "28%-er"! Upon re-installation, the microwave "sprang to life"!! Thanks, "Part Select"!! I was already shopping around for a new machine! (Now if you could only tell me an easier way to re-mount this heavy beast over the stove!!!)
Original vent grille clips broke off, so the grille would not stay on.
Just installed the new grille in place of the old one. (That is after I received the correct one, since I initially ordered a white one which definitely did not go with my stainless microwave!)
Dropped the glass cooking tray and it broke in half
Looked up the Whirlpool Co. and ordered the part. It was quite simple. Arrived in 2 days and I simply placed it in the microware. It was very very easy!
