Keep searches simple. Use keywords, e.g. "leaking", "pump", "broken" or "fit".
Dryer was Noisy
I simply followed the video and apart from a couple of areas that were not relevant to my model, everything went exactly as illustrated. The video is excellent and made the repair so easy.
The only issue I experienced was being short two rollers, as the parts diagram did not clearly show that there were two rollers in the back and two in the front.
A kit, with its own part number should be prepared that would show 4 rollers and belt as the recommended required parts.
It was an easy fix, I just did half the install a second time.
Removed the top, removed lower front cover, removed the front, removed the belt, removed the drum and the back. Removed and replaced roller support shaft and drum roller’s. Completed all Front and rear support for drum. Replaced drum , replaced drum roller belt and replaced back, completed replacement of the top, front.
Dryer belt so old it slipped and would not turn drum
Seemed daunting but pull the front off and the drum is basically just perched inside on some rollers. You have to pull it out to really reach in and wrap the 96”+ band around it and to motor and don’t forget to tension it with tension pulley if you don’t see that if your belt broke! Another bonus is after 10 years I got to remove the softball size fur ball rolling in the squirrel cage fan , big help on air flow!!!
The dryer door catch wouldn't hold the door closed
I ordered the door catch kit on a Wednesday at it arrived Saturday AM. It took less than 1 minute to pry out the old catch with a flat screwdriver and pop in the new one!
The door catch kit is soo easy. They give you instructions on which one to use depending on your dryer and it fit perfectly into the door. This was great especially since it was so inexpensive! My husband thought we would have to replace the door.
The latch on my dryer door wasn't working. I was having to shove a towel in the door to get it to stay shut until I was able to repair it.
All I had to do was get the model number off of the dryer and plug that information in online and within a couple of days the part arrived. It was great! There were directions that came with the part that explained how to replace the old latch with the new one.
I remember in the "olden days" when I would of had to call a repair guy out and paid a lot more than the $12.00 I did to replace the part myself. And, the only reason it was $12.00 dollars instead of $5-6 was because I had it shipped overnight.
My husband is the one who fixed the door. He said he just popped it into place and was done in just a couple of seconds! The best part though was the quick service we received. . . I ordered the part around 10:30 in the morning, and it was at my front door by 5pm the next day!!! What great service!!!! We will definitely do business again with partselect. Com if we ever need more parts.
The real story here is that there was an ANSWER and a SOLUTION, to what was a GREAT annoyance. If I wouldn't have found a part, I may have run off and bought a new dryer, when I really didn't need to, or paid A LOT of money for a repair man to come out. THANK YOU for your service. You made my life easier.
I removed the old door catch by using a screwdriver to pry it out, then I popped the new door catch in its place and it snapped right in. It took less than 5 minutes to do the whole job.
