Soap dispenser door broke off
First I unplugged the diswasher, than I unscrewed 4 screws on the inside of the door which pops the door off, unplug two wires, note which one goes where, unscrew 6 screws that holds dispenser in place, than reverse order to install new part. Very easy.
Took off all the screws, replaced the dispenser-no problem. However, I couldn't get the top to stay in place long enough to get the screws back in. My boyfriend came over and couldn't get it together without using a longer screw in the top area. Now it works great. The only other problem was my bank and my VISA-they both called me stating my account was being used out of the country. They issued a fraud alert at first, but I called them and told them everything was fine. Linda Florida
opened the door and removed 6 screws to uncover the latch. Removed 2 screws to release the latch & 4 snap in wires and the old one was out. Reversed to install new; it was easy.
I had already removed a couple of screws so I could open my dishwasher because you know it wouldn't break unless it was full of dishes and in wash mode. I recieved the part, took the screws that actually held the door latch assembly in place, replace the door latch assembly, the screws that held it in place and finially the cover with it's four screws and "snap" it was opening and closing like it was brand new.
Latch handle was broken, so door wouldn't open properly.
Don't feel like giving lots of detail. If one can't figure this one out on your own, then you need to call a professional repairman to do it for you. At this point you will need to seriously reconsider your own manhood. This job only requires taking out several screws to remove the control panel and the screws and connected wires to remove the latch itself. Installation is the reverse. VERY easy.
The handle broke and we couldn't get the door open
We actually had taken of the panel on the front of the DW door and looked at the part that was broken. Went to the internet and did a quick search for who had the best deal on parts and found this site. After narrowing it down and comparing a picture of the part with the broken part, we ordered it. Got it in the mail about 4 days later. Installed it in about 20 minutes ~ and WELLA! we have a working DW again. Thanks for being there for us!!!
The latch broke and we had difficulty using our dishwasher.
There were four screws to remove. I took the old latch out and put the new one in. The latch assembly was attached by two star screws. It was very easy to change out. It works perfectly! By ordering fom Part Select we saved theadded expense of calling an appliance repair man.
Door will not lock, therefore, dishwahser will not work.
Pulled out timer's control dial. Removed front upper panel on front of door by removing screws holding it from the back of the door. Removed broken latch door/swicth by removing two screws and dis-engaging hook on part from door. Disconnected four push-in electrical plugs. Reversed procedure to install new part.
Removed 6 screws to remove housing. Removed 2 screws to remove old latch disconnected 4 female plug connectors. Reconnect the 4 plugs to the new switch & re-mounted it with the 2 screws. Slight misalignment (which may have been present before the repair) was corrected by bumping the metal latch receiver withe the handle of the screw driver just a bit. Works perfectly.
Removed the screws holding the cover plate, the two screws holding the latch, and switched it the wires from the old latch to the new. Replaced all screws, now it works like new.
Remove the screws on the panel, then remove two screws on the damaged door latch, then install the new one and replace screws in the panel. simple no problems.
First, I unplugged dishwasher. Second, I removed the top 6 screwson inside of door with a phillips screwdriver. Next, I removed the two star screws that held the latch. I then unplugged the wires from old latch and attached to new latch assembly, put it back and tightened all screws, plugged the dishwasher in and tested the latch. It was very simple using instructions listed on the website from other repair stories.
