Dryer was working erratically.
I followed the YouTube video. Took the back panel off, took the lint thing off and proceeded as indicated in the video excerpt I didn't take the top off.
The dryer nob wasn't working the dryer knob broke off inside the unit
It was very easy to install the new parts successfully thanku parts select I will always keep using your business the representative was so helpful and understanding my problem I wish I could remember his name he was outstanding and a 100 thumbs up to him
electric dryer stopped heating - the thermostat got very hot
The numbers on the metal plates were the JC Penney numbers - that no one recognizes. I eventually found the model number inside the timer case on a printed schematic. I started by disassembling whatever metal covers were removable by finding sheet metal screws and unscrewing them. If you pull on the sheet metal covers, you can find where they are connected to the frame. Eventually, I found that both the heating element was broken and the thermostat was fried. It took a while looking at various websites to find the proper parts. It's all OK now.
As the washer was trying to move the agitator back and forth to wash the clothes it kept slipping and making a grinding noise and the agitator wouldn't move much at all.
I removed the top cap of the agitator which is actually the fabric softener dispenser. It comes off by hand.Under that was some type of a cap or a seal like piece of plastic. Also removed by hand.Under that I saw a 9/16 bolt head.I took that out with a socket set and a couple of extentions. Now I was able to remove the cup shapped part called the AGITATOR CAM ASSEMBLY. In this part are three comma shapped pieces of plastic.Sorta looked just like a big cashew nut.On these pieces there are little teeth which when working properly will swing out just a bit and lock into the agitator itself and this is what makes it move back and forth(or agitate). Well the teeth on mine were rounded off and would not grab the agitator. So I go to this stores web site by doing a GOOGLE search for my machines model number and this GREAT web site had an exploded view of my machine showing the exact parts by name and number that I needed.Great price ,supper fast delivery.Really I had these parts within 5 days of placing the order.I put them in and it went back together just as easy as it came apart.I called it a bit difficult because I had no idea how to take apart a washing machine and I didn't know what I was looking for when I got in there.I got lucky.
Take out softener dispenser. Then take off sealing cam that sits over the cams. Removed center bolt for the agitator and pulled assembly out. Installation was in reverse order.
removed top of agitator, used an extenison with a 7/16 socket, removed 1 screw, pulled out cam and only replaced the dog ears. put back together and now it WORKS LIKE NEW. (knock on wood)
First I was told by the maytag repair man that the motor was shot and it would be 467 dollars to repair. Since I didn't have that kind of money I decided to take it apart to see if I could replace the motor myself. Once I had it apart I saw the part that held the motor in place was broken off and the motor was out of place causing it too shut itself off. Once I figured it all out it took about 2 minutes to replace the less than 6 dollar part! Thanks partSelect!!!
Pulled washer out from wall removed clamp and old drain hose addnew hose replaced clamp put washer back in plact connected drain to outlet simple operation
discovered it was a broken latch. Ordered the latch, only took 2 days to arrive and all I had to do was remove the broken latch and snap in the new one. I saved myself a service call. I'm very happy!!!!!!
After watching the great install video, I followed his lead and within 20 min had my dryer door fixed. This dryer was bought in 1986 and I really thought I was looking at buying a new dryer. How wonderful that I could fix it for less than $11. Easy to find web site, easy to find part, great instructions and fast delivery!
From the front, taped part in place and then assembled springs and insulator from the rear. Difficulty occurred with access to the back of the sensor due to the air duct interference. The sharp edges of the sheet metal parts increases the risk of cuts. First shipment was missing the second electrode but Part Select immediately replaced the shipment. My experience has to be considered Excellent and I would go to Part Select first for my next order.
