washing machine stuck on drain cycle
Siphon break kit keeps washing machine from continuing to siphon after rinse/cycle -- like emptying a pool with a hose. Fixed the problem of the tub never filling due to siphon draining out water as it's being put in.
Turn off and unscrew hot -cold hoses and drain line. Unplug power and pull unit away from wall. Tip onto front of machine and lean it onto something that will give you enough room to work as the pump is on bottom left back of unit. Unscrew all back plate screw's and remove back panel and keep screw's handy. Three main screw's hold pump in place but loosen hose clamp's first and its out. Reverse what you just did and you should be good to go! Good Luck!!
Repair was pretty straight forward with the exception of removing the agitator. Hint, do not force it, just continue to work it until it releases. Problem was not entirely corrected, but improved.
Have the Maytag washing machine little over2 years and the water pump cracked - very disappointed. Anyway, removed the back panel, unhooked the hoses, used 5/16 wrench to loosen up the screws, unplugged the power connector than replaced it with a new water pump.
It was an easy repair that I taught my 18 yrs old.
removed back of washer. turned washer on its side .removed the 3 screws holding pump and the 2 hoses and the electric connection pump came right out. did the reverse to install the new one.stood up the washer and ran it to check for leaks.no leaks installed back of washerand done
Getting to the actual hub is a bit difficult as it involves removing the accetuator and takes some time and patience, but when I tried to replace with a new hub, I found that the screws were stripped, so PartSelect walked me through the ordering process and helped me choose the exact size screws that I needed. Parts came quickly...I already had the hub waiting to be secured and the screws tightened easily. (We had tried using a similar size, but you REALLY need the whirlpool screws that go in there) No more spinning problems, and the machine is not jumping around anymore. Works just like before. This particular machine has to have this part replaced at least twice a year (luckily it's cheap),but saves us from having to buy a whole new machine. My son also told me that since I replace the part so often, best to replace the screws every other time as well.
It is good to watch a video on how to! Most went well, like all repairs, there are surprises, that make It take longer than expected. Once I put it back together and ran it, there was a UL code. After reading more posts, I found UL is unbalanced. After reading more… one of the problems could be the hub on the bottom may be loose. I checked that. Yep the hex bolt was loose. I forgot to put lock tight on it. Fixed that and ran it, worked flawlessly. It would be nice to have install instructions in the box. Otherwise watch videos.
Watched the video first thing really helpful. Unplugged the machine popped the top put the front left rod on first then right rear that had the clip for the pump hose then the left rear saved front right for last got pretty stiff and it was easier to get to than the rear ones. Put top back down checked level plugged back in and went to washing. Worked great so far.
This is an easy one. Snap off the agitator cap with a screwdriver. Remove the single but and agitator. Remove 6 phillips head screws. Lubricate the bearing and coax it off the spindle.
the fastener became loose and dropped into the stove
This is a cook stove that is used 5 months a year. We have not fixed it yet because we are now in Florida the stove is in New York. We ordered that part just before we left NY for FL so the repair will be done in June of 2021. George Clark
Lived about 6 months with noisy, unbalanced, vibrating top-load washer that would not fully drain clothes or finish a spin cycle.
Watched as many You-Tube repairs videos as we could. Had difficulty trying to open the top panel for access to spin tub.
Discovered that we had clips in front, about 6" from each side, that needed pressure push with flat metal paint scraper, in order to open the top for access.
Other than that delay, took us about 2 hours total with two of us working together. In the end, Suspension Kit was exactly what we needed, and NO longer get the UL error code, with bothersome constant spin stops, which failed to spin water out of wet clothing.
