I removed the ice tray from the freeze. Turn over and remove screws holding the face plate on. Remove the 4 screws holding the crushing mechanism in place. Pull the entire mechanism out and remove the nut holding the blades together. Remember the alignment of the blades. Remove blades and then the pastic crush wheel. Replace in reverse order. Very easy.
I removed the bucket and then took the feed screw out and replaced the end cap and reinstalled the feeder in the new bucket and put it back in place and it worked fine. This is not a hard job, you just have to pay attention to the dismantle so you can get every thing back together properly. the breakdown and parts list was a big help.
This was not a repair but rather a decision to make use of the dead space in the refrigerator door by adding another bucket to the door and relocating the other buckets accordingly. This project worked out very well and increased the shelf space by 20%. . .
Ice maker would jam up and not let ice out thru dispencer .
Super fast , I received my parts the very next day ,THANKS to PartSelect.com. GREAT JOB . Pulled out 4 screws , pulled out the ice turn gear & crusher , replaced the helix end cap , put all these parts back in place , screwed 4 screws back in ice bucket , back in freezer and it works like new . It would of cost me $110.00 to have a repair company do this simple job .
Really easy, simple instructions, and it was on my doorstep 3 days after I ordered. Much simpler than dealing with the appliance store, where I'd have to drive to the store, order the filter, wait 7-10 days, and return to pick it up. Ughh! Internet is the way to go!
Followed the instructions in the video provided via email from Partselect However, the part received was the opposite design of the part removed. It appeared this could be left hand right hand choice of part. Moreover, the button on the switch that turns the light off/on when door is open/closed was not functional due to the part being the opposite of the part I was replacing. I tested the switch I was replacing and it appears this is not the problem. I think the light socket is the problem. I am 69 year old female and capable of doing small repairs, but limited knowledge of electrical so having to troubleshoot by trial and error. Thank you.
One of the light bulbs went out on my Whirlpool refrigerator.
I changed the bulb but it still didn’t work. I ordered a bulb holder and replaced it and it works properly now. It was an easy repair, remove the bulb, gently pry the bulb holder out with a screwdriver and snap the new one in.
It was useful that under the description of the part in the catalog, it showed that this part was often used to repair this issue. The service was great and the delivery was fast.
The new piece arrived broken, still waiting on the repplacement
The crisper pan arrived broken. They credited me back the charge right away, and ordered a new one (July 6th). Here it is July 13th, and they still have not shipped the new crisper pan.
