Missing refrigerator shelf rack from rental property refrigerator
I want to start by saying that I am female and want to let all females know that we can do home repairs! My story is not just about the repair but the wonderful customer service at PartsSelect.com. I have used them MANY times to order missing parts for appliances (I own rental property and tenants are always "losing" or breaking appliance parts). This particular time was the first time I received an incorrect part...not sure if it was my ordering or the wrong part was shipped. I contacted PartsSelect.com by email and got a REAL response within 24 hours. The customer service person who responded, immediately credited my account and "found" the correct part to order and less than 48 hours after my first email to them, my new part is already on it's way! I snapped one of the end caps in, put the rack rail into the cap, placed the other cap on the other end, and snapped that end in. Because I received the exact parts needed, the entire repair took about one minute.
We took the door off and replaced the pastic washer. Found out that the repair people never informed us that the door itself has a bit damaged so this repair would have to be done over and over. Nice way for them to make money off us. We were able to fix it so that it will last a LONG time. Sometimes it realy can pay to do-it-yourself!

Dear Part-select, I had a fridge that was not working food was melting in the freezer, Beer was warm. You get the picture anyway using your site I found the parts needed to to fix the issue in fact I ordered two parts one fixed the issue 50% and the other like 30% of the time! both parts with overnight shipping were cheaper than 1 part if purchased at our local appliance part outlet:) not to mention the cost of a repair person. A little research told me the hum plus no cooling was either the compressor or the relay. I ordered the new relay and put it in but it didn't fix the problem. I ended up having to buy a new fridge, but it was worth the $30 gamble to see if I could fix it on the cheap and it saved me the money a service call would've cost. Pretty easy installation, just in a tight space on my model.
They were the wrong parts. I read a question another person asked and it advised to order these parts. Didn't want to waste my time anymore and threw them away.
I unsnapped the old clips from the bar, installed one end cap to freezer door, clipped other end cap to bar, slid bar into end cap installed in door then snapped other end cap into place. Repeated for second shelf bar as those end caps were broken as well. No tools were needed.
Unplugged fridge, opened the door, used flat head screwdriver to pop off old switch, unplugged wires, plugged in new switch, popped it back in, and plugged the fridge back in. 2 minute fix.
edges of drawers had broken off, The drawers were just sitting on the shelves.
raised the sides of the drawer front up, then pulled the front straight up. Then put the front in the slots of the new drawer and pushed down. I gave it a light tap on the top corner and it locked into place. I put my food stuffs back in the drawers and slid them back into the refrigerator. Job done in about eight min, for two drawers.
Ordered the Capacitor and the Thermostat Control. Parts were received in a matter of a few days, easy to install, but did not fix the problem. Had to call a repairman to fix the problem (compressor relay - this part not available to order for this model number with Parts Select). Will continue to use Parts Select in the future for other parts, but not happy that the actual part I needed was not available - had to use other methods.
For the shelf you have to save the front and back gaurds to put on the new shelf when it arrives. You have to slide the shelf in through the slots and then add the back gaurd. The front guard just pops on after that. The drawer front of the old drawer just slides off and then back on the new drawer, The drawer just slides in after that. No tools needed. Super easy ... super beautiful. Love it!
Refer iced up and would not keep the bottom cool. It was 70 Farenheit inside.
I simply removed 4 screws holding the casing and then 2 more holding the timer. It was very easy. I then replaced the timer by unplugging and plugged the new one in. I replaced all the screws and the job was done. Less than 30 minutes. I was very impressed with the shipping time. When I ordered the part, I had it the next day.
