shocks showing their age
Overall, the install was easy. Just a matter of getting yourself to get it done. The video on the removal / install procedures was most helpful. The front shocks were completed very quickly. The rear shock required all hoses to be disconnected and the back of the washer to be removed. After removing perhaps a dozen screws the cover was still fastened. You will see (in my case) 4 plastic flat clips. after they were removed the back came off. The rest of the project was the same as the front shocks. 1st time thru so to be expected. Anyway, certainly a project that any DIYer can tackle. Thanks Partselect for the correct parts in a timely fashion and the knowledge to perform the install. Scott
Brother who used to sell appliances opened the washer door and read the booklet inside the washer telling him the part necessary to repair the problem. $33/00 for the water flow meter Part and shipped in next morning and arrived overnight. Excellent service for only $7.00 shipping. Highly recommend this place for parts. This was after a couple of days searching the internet for those with the same problem and not receiving and exact part to fix the problem
Removed the old pump and installed the new one. Most difficulty came from the fact that the dryer is on top of the washer and the washer is inside a plastic pan that has a 2 inch lip which made it difficult to remover the front panel.
After receiving the hinge and screws, I watched the on line video at the website. I removed the door and hinge from the washer, removed the hinge from the door and re-installed the new hinge. The entire process took less than 15 minutes and reattaching the new hinge to the machine was a breeze. The replaced hinge is smooth as silk and all is back on line. Great service from the crew at this site. Shipping was very quick (ahead of the scheduled arrival) and the CSR was very cordial and professional.
Everything worked perfectly---thanks to the suggestion of your call center agent. She suggested that since the replacement door handles were no longer available, I should consider repainting them--it worked like a charm. Please tell her she was a life saver. We rent that house in Fl and my returning tenants had complained about the discoloring refer handles. Thank you
Was able to remove old bellow without dis-assembly. Replacement required removing the front of the machine for access. Once the front was off, the bellow was simple to replace. Biggest difficulty is getting the top mark on the bellow lined up. It has a tendency to slip out of position while you are working the back of the bellow over the retaining lip and it is not possible to rotate the bellow after it is installed. Fortunately, the tube from the detergent tray can be rotated slightly to allow for a small amount of error. Replacing the front retaining wire and spring required three hands at one point, but was otherwise not a problem. Fortunately removal and replacement of the front of the machine is pretty straight forward. I needed to disconnect wires to set the front out of the way, but it is impossible to plug them back in incorrectly.
My husband removed the bottom panel of the washer and removed the old pump with two screws, then removed the water hose coming into the pump and unplugged the electrical push in type plug from the side of the pump. Simple reversed the process to instal the new one and replaced the front panel. Simple really...far more so than calling a repair man.
simple repair. After reading other reviews my husband was confident he too could do the repair. He was right, we were so very glad not to have had to call for service.
Take off top of washer and the flowmeter is in the back lefthand corner on the top of the washer. Replaced the water level switch on the top righthand of the machine also. Got about 150. 00 Total invested w/service call from local tech. F-20 has not came back yet. I hoped it fixed it washer is only 3 yrs. Old. -Gd
The rubber boot assembly is not the same configuration as the original equipment.
I had to cut new slots in the metal base of the machine cabinet to accommodate the different configuration for the rubber boot assembly. Thankfully the new pump works like a charm.
