MVH250W Amana Microwave - Instructions

OMG! I wish everything in life were so easy.....The cooking tray of our 15 year old microwave cracked and I swore it'd be impossible to find a replacement. That is until I discovered Partselect.com!!All I had to do was input the appliance brand and part I was looking for, and there is was. Thank you, Partselect.com!!

Lifted old one out, put new one in. No problem.

All the electrics worked on Amana microwave EXCEPT for the cooking function. Inspected the control board and found the upper switch on the door interlock was burnt. Installed new switch in minutes and everything now works fine. Unfortunately, had to purchase expensive two switch "kit" although only one switch was kaput. PartsSelect mailing was SUPER fast. Pulled out broken roller guide, replaced it with new one. It was just that easy.

After unplugging the microwave and removing the screw, I removed the old bulb and put in the new one!! I made sure it was in securely and the difference in the light was awesome! I use this light when I bake bread and let it rise inside the microwave, but DO NOT turn it on. The heat from this light helps the bread to rise properly!!

The problem I have with changing the bulb is my microwave is an overhead one and therefore I cannot tip it on its side to easily replace the bulb. I have to drop the lid down and carefully install the new bulb from underneath.

Removed the glass cover and replaced the bulb. Very simple.

Dropped in the new one. Took about 30 seconds.

The turntable wouldn't rotate any more. The problem was the plastic roller guide (under the turntable glass) had cracked where it attached to the shaft. I installed the new part, it fit perfectly, now works great!

I received my glass cooking tray so fast but when I try to put in the microwave did't fix was to big,I call you today to return and very nice lady help me and told me I need to call whirlpool and explain them and already order again thank so much for all your help you have very nice people in customer service. First let me say that I tried several places to get what I thought was a simple light bulb. This included several national hardware stores as well as a national electrical supply company. No luck. Went to the manual and PartSelect. Not only did you have it in stock, ship right away,at a reasonable price it arrived in a matter of days. One would not normally think of receiving a "how to" video to change a light bulb but you did. That impressed me. Opened the package and inserted the turntable roller guide. It was the right one and worked immediately!

The door was not engaging the micro switches properly no doubt from 10+ years of wear. The upper switch removed fairly easily but take care not to tweak the plastic brace too much or it will snap. The lower one was the tricky one. After much examination I noticed that the trick to remove it was underneath the brace. Take a butter knife (no joke) and insert it just under the old micro switch and gently press down twisting the micro switch every so slightly til it releases. The replacements snap back in with no trouble. The microwave is working much better now, though not perfect.

I didn't do the repair -- my husband did, said it was easy, had no problems what so ever! The new bulbs give a lot more light to the cooking area.
