Keep searches simple. Use keywords, e.g. "leaking", "pump", "broken" or "fit".
Ice maker was leaking and causing the ice to freeze into a block.
People would use the ice maker and just let it grind and eventually the bin and the plastic cup at the end of the auger broke. I replaced the ice maker and once satisfied it worked and did not leak, I took the bucket/auger mechanism apart and replace both the bucket and the ice cup. While the Frig is getting old, it has paneling that matches our cabinets so we are trying to get a few more years out of this. This repair is one I should have done 10 years ago! Thanks Parts Select!
Original part cracked allowing crushing fingers to grab plastic guide jamming it.
Part attaches to metal plate near crushing fingers which attaches to ice holding bin. Remove about 6 screws total on each side of plate. You must disassemble the auger & other parts so you can reassemble it in the proper order. Not many parts but i always take pics to cut down on time. New part is at the other end of the auger and acts as the holde of the auger shaft. Picture a crankshaft with a bearing on each end so the auger rotates between new part and the other end of auger shaft. That's it.
At first I replaced the defrost timer and thought the refrigerator was fixed. Big mistake. It took about a month to realize it was not fixed. Again I defrosted the ice off the evaporator and then I ordered new defrost heaters and a defrost thermostat. It was easy to replace the heaters and defrost thermostat. Only used a phillips screwdriver and some tie straps to hold back the wiring to the heaters. The defrost thermostat was held on by a clip and was easy to install. Was done in about 20 minutes and the refrigerator was back in operation. So far no problems.
Replaced flapper. Followed the video. The lamp caused the removable plastic bracket (which supports the control panel and the ice chute) to fuse with the plastic frame in the door. Eventually broke the fused plastic, removed the bracket, and filed the rough broken plastic before reassembly.
Remove the top cover above the door by lifting it slightly and pulling forward. I used a mirror to make sure that there was nothing in the way of accessing the switch from above. I used a blade screwdriver to press against the switch retainer on the topside, while GENTLY prying from below with another blade screwdriver to get the switch dislodged. Once the retainer was past the opening, I wiggled the switch downward and then rotated it to the left when the rounded top right edge of the switch was visible. This allowed the wiring to the connector to pass thru the hole. I pushed the wiring from the top and pulled from below to get the connector below the opening for the switch. I then unplugged the switch, plugged in the new switch and reversed the removal process feeding the connector thru first then rotating the switch to the right to get the rounded edge of the switch thru the opening, then pressed the switch up into the opening until it snapped into place. Total time less than 10 minutes.

There are Great videos on YouTube!!! Turned off power,Removed trim ring, Pushed a philips head screwdriver in one of the holes underneath the electrical panel with the selector push buttons. This releases the electrical panel. There are Three wire sets with plugs. I removed the plugs and took the electrical panel out. Removed four Phillips head screws and pulled out the big paddle switch. This then exposes the flapper. Replaced flapper with new one and reassembled everything. When I had everything apart, I cleaned with window cleaner. It was pretty moldy from the water leaking. Turned power back on and tested everything to make sure I didn't mess anything up. Works great
Replaced dispenser door flapper by following the do it yourself video in this site. It was really easy. Just be careful when removing the dispenser black bezel. I broke one of the little tabs when taking it off.
Super simple! Hardest part of the entire process was identifying which part I needed to order. Once I received the part (which shipped promptly and was at my front door within 2 days), all it took was 5 mins and a screwdriver and I was back to having a usable snack drawer!
Water tubing lines runs very close the compressor. Over time the heat caused the line to become brittle. Result was broken line and lots of water under the unit.
Cut the line inside the regiferator behind the bin and used the tube union to attach new 5/16" tubing to run to the solenoid valve assy in the back of the refigerator. Location of the valve assy makes connecting very difficult. But was able to complete repairs.
1. Use skewer to press plastic tabs under control panel, 2. Remove control panel and unplug solenoid, 3. Unscrew dispenser assembly and solenoid screws, 4. Press in tabs on lamp and remove assembly - unplug, 5. Replace lamp assembly, 6. Replace solenoid assembly and fasten screws, 7. Replace flapper. 8. Replace other parts in reverse order.
