plastic crisper pan cover and supports broken
This is the second time I've had to replace the crisper cover, so I had that step mastered. As before, I took the glass from broken crisper cover and dropped it into new cover in seconds. Had to use a screwdriver to pry old crisper supports from the walls of the fridge. This was the only hassle. Popped new supports in, replaced crisper covers, and slid crisper drawers back into place. From now on, I'll have to be more careful about how much weight I put into crispers.
The basket hanger is plastic and the rack tips of the basket hanger are even more delicate. Replaced basmet hanger no problem. They were expensive i.e. $70.
Unscrew 4 screws . Remove broken basket hangers. Install new basketo hangers. Screw in 4 retaining screws...
The plastic supporting frame for the glass shelf broke at the center of the span.
Removed all contents from the glass shelf. Lifted out the glass shelf. Lifted out the broken plastic frame. Set the new plastic glass shelf frame in place, Washed the glass shelf. Placed the clean glass shelf upon the new frame. Replaced the removed contents onto the glass shelf. Fini!!!
Consult the exploded view of the Ice Container on this site. A likely cause the end plate (17) is worn. This plate connects the rotating corkscrew to the final plastic worm that pushes the ice into the crusher and thence to your waiting glass. The worm alone will not do the trick. To replace this plate, you need to take out all of the screws you can see, including the one that holds the spring for the crusher select bar.. First, the front cover, then the plate, and finally, locking ring from the worm and the black housing for the crusher. Now you can remove the whole worm assembly. Using a cloth or rubber insulator to protect it, unscrew the end screw and slide off the crusher teeth. Store on the table as a unit to facilitate re-assembly. Slide off the old bar and worm, put them back, and re-assemble. Takes a little dexterity to get the crusher select bar back, but not hard. Easy job.
Slid the meat pan out of the fridge, popped the glass from under and removed it, popped the front of shelf upward and then slid it out, and for the new one I did everything in reverse that’s it took me less than 10 minuets.
Took the ice storage bin out. Took the unit apart, and disamble the augar unit. Ordered parts from manufacture, which arrived in two days. As soon as I got the parts, I reassambled it. Work perfect. Good job!
Well I’ve been cleaning refrigerators for 50 years... so have experience removing shelves etc., for cleaning....I removed shelf and then glass and put new one in........easy peasy
Had to remove the refrigerated items off the crisper shelf to remove the glass, next removed the drawer to remove the crisper frame, then removed the middle drawer glass to remove the drawer, then the frame, installed the new frame cleaned the glass, re-installed the middle drawer, and continued the installation steps reverse of the removal process.
The top crisper drawer frame was cracked, it secures the glass top also.
Replaced the top crisper drawer frame. Installation was very easy. The hardest part was cleaning all of the spilled food/liquid items from under the drawers once removed to replace the top frame. I will keep the top frame and repair it. From what I have read, this is a very common problem as there is no support in the middle of the frame...it is only plastic.
