Dispensed water w/ funny looking particles
First the small screws you sent did not fit.I had to cut and mend the old ones (2) to use them.I did purchase a connecting valve tha I used to connect the part of tubing (my name for it) from old one to new one.I was surprides it is working fine. Not bad for a nurse!
I measured the part then looked for a similar switch that might work. I was so happy to find the exact part we needed for our 24 year old refridgerator!! I was so impressed with your slection of parts and best of all I had the part in 2 days! You are in my "favorites" just in case I need you again!
Freezer would periodically allow things to partially thaw out
First, I removed the two thermostat knobs, then the snap-on plastic cover. Then, I removed the 4 screws holding the housing for the timer, thermostats, etc., and dropped it down enough to remove the timer and the wiring harness going into it. Installing the new one was the same process, in reverse. Quite simple!
Freezer was dripping water into refrigerator below
Removed the old timer from the housing. The replacement came with good instructions. I followed the instructions corresponding to the color wires in my unit. The first time it was installed, the fridge did not come on and the temperature rose after a couple hours. Looked at the part and realized the defrost cycle must have kicked in. Needed to slightly turn the gray slotted part to initiate the timer so it would stop the defrost and start the fridge. That did it! It must have advanced the timer so it could accumulate run time. Whole repair saved us $3000 in a new fridge.
I looked up the PartSelection website. Found the parts from the sketches of units and reviewed the videos on repairs. Then I ordered the parts, altho I ordered the complete unit, instead of the control block that said was problem 59% of time. Following instructions replaced the ice maker. Then took apart the auger in the basket and thought I had an incomplete part, but upon closer inspection forund out it was correct. My only problem was that there was no instructions on how to get the block off end of shaft. Tried to impact it off, but by accident found out it screwed off. Then final repair went fast. Parts came fast and overall VERY happy with parts and repairs. They are heavier than original parts so should last longer.
The Ice maker unit had to be removed and the shaft had to also be removed, which required dis-assembling the motor drive. The thickness of the shaft and the bearing fill cup prevents it from simply pushing it in place. Other than that I have Ice.
1. PUsh the Lock button so the water will not run. 2.Remove the screw holding the nozzle. 3. Remove the Grill 4. Disconnect the black water tube. Pull the female part of the union off the old tube and hold it for the new tube. 5. PUll it the tube out from the nozzle end. 6. Snake the new tube into the hole and shove it through until it comes out the door hinge port at the bottom of the door. 7. Continue pushing and pulling the tube until the nozzle is in position. 8.Test fit the new tube and cut a short piece off to fit properly. 9. Slide the female part of the union onto the new tube. Insert it onto the union and tighten. 10. Insert the screw that holds the nozzle in place and tighten. 11. Push the on unlock button and fill a glass with water. 12. Check for leaks. If no leaks reinstall the grill. Job done.
Removed the 2 screws holding the light bulb shield, then the 4 uolding the metal panel. Unplugged the olw door switch and replaced. reassembled the pieces.
Removed ice bucket and discovered the auger drum was broken.
After I received the new part, I removed the front screws of the ice bucket, removed the clip that held the auger and other parts together, and then slide each part off the auger until I got to the broken drum.
Assembly was in reverse except you must pay attention where all the spacers and ice crusher bars go back into the original position. This was the most difficult step.
Works great now, crushed and cubed ice dispenses thru the door like new.
3 inches of frost in Fridge, 72 degrees in Fridgerator
First defrosted it to makes sure all Air flow was opened. Tested the Defroster heater with omh meter, it was OK. Found the location of the defrost timer on the online diagrams. Used nut driver to remove cover. Replaced timer. The hardest part was decieding how to wire it up, tis was a universal kit and depending on how it was wired as to how often the defrost ran. The firt choice was every 8 hours. Since this was going to be opened often, I picked that one. Plugged it with in 24 hrs freezer wall mesured -5 and the fridge was at 30, so had to warm it up a bit. Now all complaints gone, Ice making has been doing better also.
1. Removed the icemaker door 2. Removed the two screws from the underside of the icemaker unit 3. Removed the slide-on plastic cover that protects the power cable connector 4. Removed the icemaker unit 5. Removed the two screws from the control unit 6. Pulled the control unit from the icemaker unit 7. Installed the new control unit and reinstalled the icemaker assembly
A repairman wanted to charge me $250 to do what I did in about 20 minutes for about $120.
Local service person missed the diagnosis and advised $10,000 new refrigerator. I looked and saw that the switch was deformed and had burn marks. Searched for switch online. Found site Ordered. Part arrived next day. 5 minute job to replace. No tools needed. Refrigerator works great. Thank you t!
We removed three screws, unplugged the wire and then removed the old ice maker. Installed the new ice maker with the screws, plugged in the wire and shortly after that we had ice! I was nervous about this repair but it was so easy and the part was here in three days.
Pulled out the ice bin and dumpted ice in the sink. Use 1/4 inch nut driver to take out all 1/2 inch screws. Be careful to watch how door spring and holder goes. Pull assembly apart and remove alger. Plastic nut on end of alger has reverse threads, remove it and then remove broken alger drum. Replace with new drum and reassemble in reverse order.
