Oven not heating with bake element, broil element working OK.
Locate and shut off 220 volt breaker to Stove/Oven. Remove baking racks from oven. Use phillips screw driver to remove two phillip head screws holding bottom baking element in place. Slowly pull out element/wires and use volt meter to check for presence of voltage. Remove wires from element by pulling off female spade connector, push wire connector onto new element, carefully push wiring and element end thru rear opening and secure with the two phillip head screws. Replace baking racks, turn 220 volt source back on and test element to a high temperture, leave oven door open, new element will smoke slightly and create a burning odor, so take a few minutes to break in the new element. You're now readly to bake. If you don't have a volt meter, turn stove/oven "ON" with lights indicating that stove/oven is ON, turn circuit breaker off and watch indicator lights go "OFF" when circuit breaker is tripped.
First, turn the breaker off to the oven, you don't want to electrocute yourself. There are two screws that hold the element to the back wall of the oven, undo those and pull the element towards you. There are two terminals at each end of the element, take these off, then reattach to the new element and screw back in to the back wall of the oven. This process takes maybe all of five minutes
turn off electric breaker, unscrew the 2 screws unplug the 2 ends replace old element with new repeat previous steps but unfortunately the control panel was also failing and that item has been discontinued.
My son ordered the part, which came very fast, It was a perfect fit, and the job went very smooth. I have no story to tell except that Mom was happy to have the oven again and a VERY helpful son!!!!
I snapped a bolt on the main power terminal block when connecting the pigtail.
Removed the small metal panel covering the main power terminal in back of the electric range. Removed the nuts holding the red, white and black electrical wires from the range using the appropriate socket (there will be two nuts on each bolt end). Removed the two screws holding the main power terminal block with appropriate screw driver. Connect the new main power terminal block to the range using the two screws. Reconnect the red, black and white electrical wires coming from the range using one nut for each wire. IMPORTANT: do no over tighten the nuts because the bolts could snap. Reconnect the pigtail and secure the small metal panel covering the main power panel.
i had a dish explode in oven wanted to remove lower element to clean and didnt unplug it first unscrewed it pulled element out and shorted ot out. so remember to alway cut ppwer before working on anything .lesson learned.!
Easy unplug appliance take racks out unscrew two screws gently pull out element unplug two wires put new one in reverse .
Turn off the power, removed the two screw (needed a wrench to help turn screw driver at first). Pulled the element forward to expose the wire connectors. Removed connectors from the old element. iInstalled new element to the wire connectors (slide on), screwed plate back into oven. Turn on power and tested
Super simple, and the part arrived less than 48 hours after buying it online. I turned off the breaker to the oven and unscrewed the burner at the bracket holding it to the back wall of the oven. After pulling out the wires, all you do is tug at the two connectors and they detach. Just slide the new burner's connectors in, then screw it back into place. My arms aren't quiet long enough to reach all the way back there, so I got my son to help and I held the flashlight for him. Had it done before my husband got home from work!
First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. Then reverse the process and bingo ...done
EXTREMELY fast shipping of product ...I have purchased other products and always satisfied .
I read other repair stories before I completed the instillation and let me tell you that in it's self was a great help.
Very easy to install two screws in the front but you must first remove the wires behind the oven otherwise you may damage the wires by pulling them through.
Part was on order and I still received it within three days.
You guys are the best, I recommend the site to all of my friends and family.
First I checked to make sure the power was off with an electrical meter (wiggins). Next I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. I then pulled off the 2 wires replaced the element and put the 2 wires on the new element. I screwed it back into place and tested the element. When I turned the oven on my new element began to glow red and the repair was now complete. Super easy.
First I unpluged the stove, then I removed the two screws that hold the heat element in place. Then I pulled the heat element out a couple of inches and disconnected the two wires. I just plugged in the new element wires, pushed the element in place and replaced the screws. It only took about 10 minutes at the most.
Now I know why everyone said "less than 15 mins" for installation time...because "less than 5 min" wasn't an option! Went exactly as everyone described, just more quickly - turned off breaker, removed two screws, disconnected wires, reconnected wires to new element, re-attached it with screws, turned on breaker, checked it - worked like a charm. It was more work opening the box! Would have taken less time if my flashlight hadn't rolled off the open oven door leaving me with poor lighting conditions.
First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires... then I reconnected the two wires to the new element and put back the two screws that hold the element in place and the job was finished.
