Oven wouldn't heat
First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. Took the element out and put the new element in place. Used the original screws - not the ones came with new element - to secure the new element back in place. DONE.

Our home was built in 1990 and has an original GE oven in it. When the bake element broke in half, I thought for sure it meant buying a new oven. It was quite easy. We first turned the power off at the main power switch. Once the power was off, we removed the two screws that fastened the metal plate in the back. We pulled the old bake element out and removed the two screws that fastened the element to two wires. To fasten the new bake element we simply reversed the procedure.
Turned off breaker, unscrewed holding plate, unscrewed element from electric connection wires, replaced element and screwed all back together, turn on breaker, oven working fine now. E-Z!
Very simple 4 screws/nuts ...off on...done. Best part was that I ordered the part regular shipping on a Sunday. Monday was a holiday...the part was at my doorstep at 8AM Tuesday morning. Wow that's service.
Bake element was showing a burn through spot and broil element was showing signs of wearing out
Cut the power off to the oven. Removed both of the racks in the oven. Removed the 2 screws that hold each element in place. Pulled the bake element out as far as it would go and unscrewed the two wires. Then did the same for the broil element. It has a guard to keep it from dropping down and I had to remove that. The broil element is a little more difficult to remove but i had read that in the previous users writeups. Overall it was a great experience from a price, delivery and installation process.
I got the help for the install from the help desk. It went EXACTLY as described, I'm so impressed. So got the best price and the best help and we're fixed and I'm baking again. Awesome
I removed the two screws that keep the element in place.Then I pull the element a little bit and disconnected the two wires and removed the old element. Then I reconnected the two wires on the new element then put the element back on position and put back the two screws that keep the element in place. Done.
Turn circuit breaker off. Two screws detached the unit. Another two screws to disconnect the wires. Reversed above operation for installation. Turn circuit breaker on. All fixed!
Removed the two screws that held the element in place. This required the use of a socket wrench. Removed the screws that were attached to the lead wires. The screws were of the sheet metal type. Once the new element was in place I did have some difficulty attaching the screws to the lead wires. The reason for this was because the screws that came with the new element were threaded and I had a hard time getting the screws started because of the small size and the limited amount of slack from the lead wires. A magnetic screw driver would have made the job much easier.
