The broiler element had been broken for some time.
The stove was new when we moved into our new home but opted to leave "our" stove in the basement until the one that came with the house had seen it's better days. The removal of the original element required the use an allen type of driver - it's removal was simple and the new element popped-into place without a problem and I refastened with the screws that came with the new element. The part arrived from PartSelect right on time, in good condition, and I would definitely do business with PartSelect again when I need to! My only complaint has nothing to do with PartSelect, it is the angle one must assume to refasten the part into place! Thank you, and I'll be back!
Removed the 2 screws that held element in place. Pulled the element out about 2 inches to disconect the wires. I then reattached the new element and replaced the screws holding the element in place.
Turned off power. Unscrewed two screws and pulled old element out of oven. Disconnected the two wires. Cleaned oven thoroughly, held new bake element with soft rag so as to not get fingerprints all over it. Wired new element and screwed it back into oven.
Baking sweet potatoes as I write, they will be delicious with my black-eyed peas and ham, a New Year's tradition in my neck of the woods.
first remomed screws of element, then removed screws to + & - connections, removed element & replaced with new one. Was very easy to find new part thanks to your easy partselect. Thanks Alan Collins
First turned off the power to the oven then removed two screws holding element in place. Pulled it out a couple inches disconnected the two wires. Then connected two wires to the new element pushed it back into two place and reinstalled screws that hold element in place. Really easy about 15-20 minutes to complete
Bake element cracked and started arcing. (Dramatic!)
First I shut off power to the oven. Then, using a nut driver, I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and unscrewed the two screws that make the electrical connection. Removed the old element and put in the new one.
Turned on power and ran the oven for a while to verify that it worked and to burn off any oils on the element.
First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. Took the element out and put the new element in place. Used the original screws - not the ones came with new element - to secure the new element back in place. DONE.
removed and replaced element as required.thank to your website i was able to order the right part.now i have your site marked as favorite.thanks for making this easy for the non professional.
heating element was on fire and needed to be replaced
shut off circuitbreaker.removed two screws.kind of hard since screws were 25 years old and were tight.then i removed the oven door and pulled out the elementout and removed two more screws that held the wires to the element, then removed the element and replaced the new one and screwed it to the wires and thenthe next two screws that held the element in place. turn on the circuitbreaker and it was a miracle it got hot!
Turn off power to oven. Make sure with tester that the power is indeed off. Disconnected the two fasteners holding the old unit face plate to rear of oven. Pull the unit outward to expose the leads. Disconnected the leads. Reform new element to remove minor bends so it will sit flat on the floor of the oven. With plies holding the leads straight connect new unit to oven leads. Push new unit back into mounting hole. Reconnect new unit face plate to back of oven. Check that unit is level. Turn the power back on. Test the unit. All works just fine.
The element in the upper oven burned out. Looked like a welder's torch when it went out.
After checking the website, I wasn't sure the part I needed was available. Called the Customer Service number and the lady was very helpful. My part was delivered in 2 days regular UPS.
The most time took finding which breaker shut off the power to the oven. Removed two screws on the inside of the oven at the back wall. Pulled out the wiring and removed two more screws that attached the power to the element. Replaced the old element with the new one. Reversed the process. Done in 12 minutes! Very easy.
Bake element melted! Lucky it didn't start a fire!
The longest step in the fix was the walk downstairs to turn off the breaker. 1 nut driver to remove the element from the oven. 1 screwdriver to disconnect. Just as simple to re-install.
If you have this oven I seriously recommend the $30 expense to replace the element before it fails. It honestly went out with a white hot welder's torch sort of short circuit that could have burned my house down.
The Burner Element shorted out on Thanksgiving Day.
Removed the coverplate screws, slid the element outward, and removed the wire connecting screws. Positioned the new element to reconnect the wires, and discovered this isn't easy to see with trifocals. Succeeded after several failed attempts. Slid the new element into position, and reattached the cover plate.
First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires and replaced the two wires that hold the element in place. I received the part within about 36 hours after placing order.
