Thank goodness for PartSelect.com When we moved into our home the microwave and electric range are obsolete appliances and were missing parts. PartSelect.com has pictures of parts on one inch grid pattern so I was able to select the hard to find parts that would fit perfectly and they did.
Water dumped over in in my overhead microwave, which dripped down on, & shorted out a burner switch.
My husband had already removed the back plate form the stove and detached the wires from the old burner switch because it was keeping the burner on. He unscrewed the old switch and removed it. He then popped in the new switch, attached the wires to the correct contacts, and put the back plate back on. We plugged in the stove, and that burner works good as new.
Remove the door. Just open a little and pull up. Removed racks. Removed 3 screws with nutdriver. Pulled out housing. Disconnected 2 wires. Assembled new housing with with bulb receptacle and gasket. Reconnected wires and crimped a little to make them snug. Pushed housing back into hole. Put 3 screws back in, inserted bulb and cover. Slid door back on and done. 30 minutes at most.
Took out the original drip pans and set in replacements which I ordered in black enamel. Slipped right in and look great as the oven door glass is also black. Look like they came with the range.
It was easy to just replace the old burner bowls rather than try to clean them. The peices ordered from Parts Select were a perfect match and they arrived on a timely basis.
burner didn't work, using a test light showed only one side was hot.
took the back panel off the range, took the 2 screws holding the switch in place, took the old switch out, marked the wires took the wires off and clipped them onto the new switch, put the new switch into the switch plate, replaced the screws put on the knob, put the panel back on the range. rolled the range back into it's place. turned the buner on to check if it worked. It did so we were done.
The stove's burner bowls were dirty and old and the chrome was gone where the cooking drippings had collected under the previous owner's usage.
We simply typed in the model of the range and several selections of replacements came up on your website. We ordered the black porcelain ones to replace the old chrome ones, thinking they might hold up better and be easier to clean. They look great and I really think they WILL be easy to wipe up.
