Too much beer!
Caused the shelf on my fridge to break a ladder hook. I didn't even know where to begin looking for an Amana refrigerator shelf mount bracket, but luckily found this website from a Google search. The part was super easy to find, arrived in two days, and was a snap to install. What did people do before the internet?
When right hand door was opened first, and then left hand door, the mullion rail did not move all the way to the "open" position so that if the left hand door was closed after the right hand door the rail would bang against the right hand door and not close all the way until manually pushed into pos
Remove the existing mullion rail:
- Remove the screw from the center hinged cover. - Remove the mullion rail by pushing upward. The top and bottom hinges slide over tabs attached to the door. I had to bump it gently from underneath. - Disconnect the three wire connector that's underneath the center hinged cover.
Install the new mullion rail by reversing the above steps: - Connect the three wire connector and snap it into its holder. - Slide the new part over the top and bottom hinges. Be sure that all three hinges are correctly lined up before sliding the rail over the tabs. - Push it down far enough that the hole for the screw in the center cover is lined up with its corresponding receptacle in the door. - Replace the screw.
I got really tired of taking food out covered in icicles and stabbing a huge block of ice out of the bottom. Turns out all he needed was a little wheel with cogs and I looked up the sticker model number on this site and clicked the part of the fridge. So simple, wish I would’ve done it sooner.
There’s moisture inside the refrigerator and there’s a section in the gasket that was broken.
Easily pulled out the gaskets off the refrigerator doors and replaced them with the new ones. The installation video was also a big help in the process.
My son (who does HVAC, but not appliance repair) did some investigating by taking front and back panels off and determined that the evaporator coil was freezing over because the defrost wire was not heating up. He and his girlfriend did some real-time internet searching for diagnostic info because NO control diagram was included with the refrigerator. He determined the problem was most likely the electronic control board. Ordered and installed a new board and the refrigerator is back to working fine. Took about 2 hours to diagnose the problem and 1/4 hour to actually install the control board. Kind of disappointing that this control board failed when the refrigerator was less that 4 years old.
After the original center crisper drawer slide rail broke and and second also looking in deep into your parts catalog I discovered that the refrigerator never came with a crisper frame brace from the store or factory. Thanks to you , I no longer have the use of the center rail breaking off for now everything is made out of cheaply make plastic by whirlpool.
This is the small part that is critical to having a fully usable refrigerator but one that no one (even an authorized shop) has in stock. Just pop it back in, and you're done.
Couldn't figure out how to get the old one out till I saw the new one.Pop the old one out slide the 2 wires on the new one pop it back in place, good to go.
Popped out broken switch with blunt flat edged instrument. Disconnected switch from unit . Plugged new piece in and reinserted into side panel of refrigerator. Very easy.
