The light inside the oven had burned out
0. As a safety precaution, unplug the range or hit the relevant fuse breaker before you start. You might also want to grab a flashlight. Definitely do not try to do this while the oven is hot. 1. Pinch the wire over the light bulb cap to remove it. This is inside the oven at the back. 2. Pop off the hemispherical glass cap. 3. Unscrew the old light bulb, and screw the new light bulb in its place. 4. Put the cap back. 5. Secure the cap by putting the wire back in its slots on the cap.
No tools needed, the cap is just held in place with pressure from the wire.
I didn’t do the repair because I ordered two grommets. When they arrived, one of the packages was empty! Instead of just sending me another one, they refunded the part so I still need one. By the way, I was not refunded half the shipping either which was more than the part itself.
I sent back the other one with the print out for FedEx that your company e-mail to me and then i put the new one in, very easy took a few min's Thank you Mr. Phillip Lewis
I removed the pan with the gliders attached. I used a socket set to remove the broken glider from the pan. Then, I put the new glider on and tightened the socket and put the whole apparatus back in the refrigerator. I am a 75 year old woman and had no trouble doing this myself.
Nothing much. It needed the snack pan, which it has never had. The door was the main issue. My young son would hang on the door. We started having problems with it not closing. Then on day it snapped off. We repaired the screw but found the hole was stripped out. We moved the door to the other side. When the door fell off it broke the upper door shelf. This was a quick slide in repair that did not require any tools.
Once the part was received, it was very easy to snap the new part into place, and reinstall the drawers. No tools were required to complete the repair.
I followed the instructions in the video regarding removal, repair and reinstall. It all went as the video said, except for the reinstall. The rear tab did not snick into place like the one in the video did, and it was extremely difficult to see whether or not it was inserted properly. I ended up inserting the rear tab by feel, and then I had to hold it in place while I stretched the front part of the frame to line up the screw hole in order to reinsert the screw. I had to have my wife hold the flashlight while I did that in order to see. Other than that, the repair went well, it is working like a charm, and I know I have a quality GE part in my refrigerator again! Many thanks to Partselect for their speediness in getting the part to me and giving me the needed information in getting the repair done! I will shop here again.
I removed cover above the light from the back of the freezer. I removed the fan and clipped the wire leads, after disconnecting the breaker to the fridge. I connected the wires with wire "union" from Radio Shack. Could have used wire nuts. I put the breaker on to check that it was running, then put the cover back on. However, to fix the build up of ice on the coils in the back of the freezer, I also replaced the thermisor and the heater coil after defrosting the coils with a hair dryer. Both were easy repairs and the fridge works fine.
