Tank was leaking.
Followed instruction video. Replaced water tank, flushed line from house water. Reconnected line and cycled until tank filled. I have ice and water now.
The refrigerator wouldn't stay closed because the gasket was worn
Looked it up on You Tube and basically followed the very simple instructions. Two minor differences: 1) I took the old gasket off while the door was still attached to the fridge. And 2) because it was a side-by-side freezer/ fresh food, I didn't have to take off the freezer door at all and the fresh food door was only attached at the top with 2 screws covered by a hinge cap. So I undid the screws and lifted it off the lower pin. We put the door on a table handle down and slightly off the table edge. Inserting the v-shaped rubber part of the gasket into the groove was easy- pinching it together with my fingers with a little hammer tap at the corners. Reinstalled the door and voila. 27 minutes! Most of my DIY projects take twice as long as expected. Much time is spent taking off the old part then not as easy as expected to replace the new part. This was a breeze!
First: Remove all shelf’s and drawers from fridge inside that were on the way of the water tank Second: Pull the fridge from the wall Turn off the water supply: Unplugged the power supply Third: Remove the cardboard cover at bottom of the fridge on the back for better access to the water pipes From the front remove the toe kick for better access at the water pipes Disconnected the water pipe at the front left side, use a rag or paper towel to hold the water that may drip ( bigger pipe) Remove the covers on the top of the water tank inside the fridge Disconnected the water pipe at the back left side ( smaller pipe) Unscrew the water tank (two screws) Pull the water tank out with the water pipes attached Fourth: Install the new water tank assembly , make sure the pipes goes on the hole at the right side and reaches the from and back Connect pipes until the line that shows on the pipes Screw back the new water tank Put the protections back on the top Plug the fridge and open the water supply to make sure there is no water leaks The water is ready to be use
Pulled ice box away from wall. Took lower cardboard cover off. Shut water line off. Got my volt meter and checked the current going from the wall to the plug in at the inverter (input side), and I had the required 115 volts. Then I unplugged the connection going to the compressor (not the plug at the compressor which you cannot see until you unbolt the inverter) but the output connection side that goes to compressor. I checked the voltage and had about 13 volts not the required 115 volts. Therefore, I came to the conclusion that the inverter was bad. I ordered one from Partselect and they shipped it right away. I installed it and the ice box is back up to running order.
Broken light switch, caused by a dropped can of whipped topping
I had some trouble removing the broken switch because a lot of the frame was missing due to the damage from the dropped can. I tried a screwdriver first and then switched to a small putty knife, which someone else had suggested. Once the switch was loose and wires were accessible, I also had some trouble disconnecting them but they finally turned loose. After that the new switch was easily connected and popped back into the opening. Definitely take photos as you disconnect!
Cracked the head by over tightening the water filter in2 it.
It was much easier than I had anticipated it was going 2B. All it intaled was 2 undue the 2 water lines w/a 1/2 inch wrench, take out the 2 screws on the top of the head on the inside of the refrigerator, then pull it out. I then just slipped the new head in, replaced the 2 screws, replaced the filter (definitely not overly tightening it this time) by putting some waterproof food grade grease, making it much easier 2 push up & turn. After, I went 2 the back of the refrigerator & reconnected the 1 line 2 the fridge & then the other 2 the water supply. "Walla" we were making ice again & able 2 get ice cold water again, also. The entire process took approximately 30 minutes 2 complete & that's bcuz of my limited disabilities. A younger person could probably be able 2 do it possibly faster.
The defrost heater failed. The coils frosted completely over so no airflow to the fridge. Step 1. Empty the freezer. Ice maker and top shelf can stay. Remove power, pull plug or open breaker. Step 2. Remove shelves and bottom food drawer. Step 3. Remove bottom food drawer rails. 2 phillips screws on each side. Step 4. Remove back panel, 2 screws at the top. Work panel out. Note there may be a green ground wire hook on it at the top. This will expose the heater and the cooling coils. The heater is at the bottom of the cooling coils and is the width of the coils. Step 5. There will be 2 wires, one on each end, and two phillips screws holding it in. Wires pull straight out. Note which way the heater is installed and remove the 2 screws. Step 6. Assemble in reverse order. Be very careful with the heater. It is in a glass tube and is very easy to break.
Left side bucket guide cracked away from the auger attachment. Could not dispense ice cubes.
Amazingly simple. I followed the directions I found on your site 4 socket screws removed. They were easily accessible. Replaced the broken bucket guide with the new part. Put the screws back in in less than 15 minutes the icemaker auger feature that dispenses the ice was back in working order.
We actually followed the instructions of the video for the installation of the dual inlet valve and it was incredibly easy to perform. The fridge works perfect again!
after replacing the door seal, I couldn't get the new seal to close and stay closed, so I replaced the closing arm and spring. The door will close now but not tightly and it's loosing cold air. So I made and patented a wooden block to put behind the freezer door handle and the refrigerator door handle to keep the doors closed. Available in black, white and natural tan. (just kidding about the patented part, but not the block)
Removed light cover, found 2 screws in front and rear of light area.Remove screws and you can unplug light to get out of way, but not necessary. Next pop off plastic cover with flat head screw driver and remove the two screws under cover. Next pull cover off water filter and remove water filter this will give you room to slide inlet cover out. Install plastic cone provided by in new kit. Next slide new cover over cone and re-install bottom screws, however leave them loose in order to adjust for the following screws to line up. After all screws and plugs are in place snug all screws. Replace light cover an install water filter and cover. You are done.
The refrige light switch broke when I dropped something on it.
I got the model # off the fridge, ordered the part online. The part was fairly cheap and was at my house 2 days after I ordered it. It was the exact part and I installed it in about 15 minutes and everyting worked out fine and easy and cheap, under $15 total to fix the issue. All I needed to do was use a flathead screwdriver to "pop" out the old switch, remove the 2 wires off the wire connection points, put the wires on the new switch and push it back into place. easy. Great place to get exact parts and fast shipping.
Removed four screws from broken glide bracket and auger bracket and remove. Replaced with new glide bracket and reinserted ice bucket to connect auger with auger motor. Two socket size job.
