freezer was too warm, only froze ice cubes on the bottom, fan making noise, food only stayed froze if already frozen
followed instructions in the video. simple tools. pretty easy. Most people would have just bought another refrigerator, $50.00 was much better. Is working just like new.
1. Watch the video.2.Place all screws in a central location that will not be hit, stepped on, fall on the floor, etc. 3. Be systematic. 4. Allow a full hour. 5. Watch the video.
Refigerator was amking a loud noise when the fan came on to cool.
Followed the on line instructions and found the repair to be very easy. Took longer to remove the food from the freezer than to switch out the fan motor.
First I unplugged the power. Then I removed the wire shelf, center plastic cover, flited the stryofoam piece out, removed the back panel. Then I disconnedted the fan connectors. Then I took the fan brackets off and removed the clamp holding the fan blades to the motor shaft. I then reversed the steps to complete the installation.
Freezer freezer up warm temperature in the refrigerator
This is the symptoms you have when your defroster with timer goes bad. Warm refrigerator, frozen freezer. The pants of the model of the refrigerator. There is some screws to be removed from the back panel to access to the heating coils. Make sure that the coils are defrosted, so can easy access to the heating element. You will have to unscrew hitting element out of the wall without breaking or bending the lines and gentle, remove any pens or connections on a side, and underneath to remove the heating coil harness it’s attached around very easy install putting back the same way, it should not even not experience person. It should not exceed more than half an hour. Common sense and a very important make sure all power has been disconnected before you start working.
I followed your video and completely dismantled the refrigerator evaporator motor, fan, brackets, and grommet, I completely cleaned the refrigerator including the cooling coils. I then ordered the evaporator motor ,fan, grommets, lid bumper, and brackets. The order would take a week to arrive. In the meantime I cleaned and reassembled all the old parts, waiting for the new ones to come. Guess what! The refrigerator was quiet as a mouse. I really did not need the new parts, but I kept them anyway just for good luck. Not bad for a refrigerator that's twenty four years old.
Open freezer, remove rack....this got a little complicated because I had to remove the door, that required the offset screwdriver because I had a clearance issues preventing the door from opening all the way. Remove the panel covering the fan, unplug the fan, remove it from bracket, install new fan, plug in, replace panel, replace rack, replace door...bam all done!
Freezer was wet and there was no air coming out of the freezer fan. Unit was very noisy too.
The video that was attached to the part order was good, but not exactly the same as my unit. One thing I recommend is that you cover up the drain below the evaporator coil with a piece of paper and tape it down, because as I was putting the motor back I dropped a screw and it fell down the drain. So I had to go buy a new screw. Give the cost of a repair man coming to fix a refrigerator that cost only $450 to begin with, doing this repair was well worth my time. (But I also had another refrigerator to move things to and could take my time and wait while they replaced the faulty part they shipped me.)
I pulled the shrouding off, unplugged the motor and replaced it. The hardest part is slipping the fan blade off the shaft without breaking it. Works perfectly now. Also, the shipping fed-ex, regular ground was only 3 days here to arizona. Would use anytime
After removing 2 screws from freezer air duct and 2 screws and 2 self tapping screws from back panel, I removed all these, as well as the foam duct connector. Checked and verified 120 volts at the motor connector, indicating that the motor was bad. Ordered the motor, and 22 hours later, it arrived. 15 minutes later, and 6 screws reinstalled, it was up and running.
