Burner would randomly overheat on any setting (Bad Control Switch)
1) Unplug stove. 2) Remove back cover of the stove held in place by 8 screws (4 short ones for the upper holes and 4 longer ones for the lower holes.). 3) Remove the knob from the switch that you are replacing to expose the switch mounting screws (2 screws). 4) Remove the screws. 5) Go to the rear of the stove and extract the defective switch. 6) You will see 2 plastic plugs going into/onto the switch. Remove the plugs. MAKE SURE YOU ARE UNPLUGGED FROM THE Wall OUTLET!! A small flat blade may be needed to separate the plugs from switch. 7) Attach the plugs to the new switch (there is only one way to do it. you wont get them confused and put on wrong. 8) Put the new switch where the defective one was. 9) Come to the front of the stove and put your two screws in and replace the knob. 10) Replace the back cover, 11) Plug in and test burner.
dropped stove forward, handle broke and trim around it also broke.
Unsrewed what was left of the trim and oven handle. Just 4 screws total, then replaced the 2 screws of the trim and the 2 screws on handle. Finished! Replacement parts fit perfect!!! Thanks a milliion!
My husband pulled the oven out and unscrewed the screws(in the back) the heating element came right out. He did everything on his own. The only thing he needed a little help with was for me to keep the heating coil flush to the back wall of the oven, while he screwed the new one in. It was a very quick job. The longest part was pulling the oven out to get behind it and sliding it back in.
The 8-inch burner only heated on high regardless of the temperature setting dialed in.
Unplugged stove from electrical outlet. Pulled temperature control dial off by hand. Remove screws to top back stove panel with Phillips screwdriver. Removed top stove back panel. Unscrewed broken infinity switch from stove. Unclipped wiring harness to broken switch by prying loose with flat head screw driver. Reclipped wiring harness to new switch. Screwed replacement switch back onto stove. Reattached back panel with screws.
My wife did it! I got home one night and my wife had done it! That's how easy it was! Trust me, he is no handyman (woman) but she did it by herself. The part came fast, the price was better than any one else's
Made sure was off, Removed rear panel, removed 2 screws, removed wire clips from old switch, installed wires on new switch, installed switch with 2 screws, re-installed back panel, reconnected power and checked switch function. OK!
Removed all terminals and block mounting screws. Repaired one burnt terminal and reassembled. Replacement part was an exact fit and reassembly whnet very well.
It went great. I am not very handy, but with a little help from your website reviews, I was able to easily remove the old broiler element and replace it with the new one in less than an hour. I immediately tested it and found that it worked great.
removed door handle screws then removed glass retaining tabs from sides put clips on sides of glass held insuation in place and replaced glass replaced door handle replaced two door screws trial opened and closed door successful done
Unscrewed the switches and let the switch hang while replacing one wire at a time. Followed instructions on wire replacement. Exact parts, only shaft on 6" switch was too long -- okay, because it is designed to break off a piece on end of shaft, then the knob fit. Everything was perfect.
Unplugged unit from wall. Unscrewed the two screws on at he back of the oven where the element is attached Removed old element by pulling apart the connectors. Attached new element to the connectors. Replaced cover with the two screws.
Removed drawer, after removing the 50# of junk in the drawer, Used screw driver to remove screw that holds glide to drawer and then place new part into place put screw into hole and tightened screw. Replaced drawer and told wife not to put 50# of junk back into the drawer.
Removed back plate, replaced infinite switch. Replaced receptacle holder. Took a moment to see how to install wires into the receptacle, no instructions on orientation of wires into the receptacle. Wired receptacle per instructions. Placed receptacle into holder and installed burner. Burner Burner would not lay flat, receptacle longer than original. Removed receptacle from holder, plugged in burner and placed burner into position.
After doing a YouTube search. I successfully completed the repair by easily diagnosing the issue with the element. I watched a video about 5 most common problems with whirlpool broiler elements. The first being to inspect the element for damage. I found a small section that appeared to be rough and had a raised bump. I decided to order a new element because the oven is older and it wouldn’t hurt to install a new one even if this wasn’t the issue. Once the part arrived, which it did quickly, I followed the video instructions. It was easy and straight forward. I completed the task in under thirty minutes. It was very simple and I now have a functional broiler element.
