Heating element went out
Removed the clamp holding it to the floor and removed the c-clips holding element underneath and put new one in. Hard part was figuring out what was holding the element but since I still had the schematic drawing we figured it out. Saved a bunch on a repairman. After watching my friend install the new element I could probably do it myself next time.
spray arm was knocked off and melted on the element
I just popped on a new Arm. So easy. The amazing thing was how fast I had the part and how easy it was to find on Partselect.com. I ordered the part Monday and had it Tuesday. I was stunned and the tenant was impressed.
I already had the dishwasher pulled out (remove the two screws from under the counter holding the dishwasher in place) The drain was located on the right side at the bottom very easily removed after taking out the two screws and removing the tubing. Attached the tubing to the new drain pump, made sure clamps were in place and then screwed the screws back in to hold the drain pump into the bracket. Ran the dishwasher once before pushing it back in to make sure there were no leaks. Had a leak but completely unrelated to the drain pump.....I had to replace the hot water supply line the next day, also SUPER EASY. Pushed dishwasher back in and replaced the two screws into the brackets that hold the dishwasher in. Kind of disappointed that I had to replace these things since the dishwasher is just over a year old, but PartSelect made finding the part super easy and they were by far the BEST PRICE! Thanks again! Only suggestion is I wish that it would have come with directions...but I figured it out pretty well!
Removing two screws on the inside of the door alows the outside panel to slide down and detach. The soap dispenser connects with six screws and two wires. Remove the dispenser through the inside of the door. Replace, reattach and reasseble in 15 minutes.
Unplugged dishwasher, removed the 2 wires clipped to the heating element, removed both cracked nuts, replaced with new nuts from PartSelect, clipped on wires, plugged in and did a test cycle. Based upon service quote from Best Buy, I saved myself $125.00 for just the call out, not including parts and labor.
I took out the four screws that hold the front plate on and removed the latch/switch combo. Two screws hold that on, so i removed them and disconnected tthe wires. Put new assembly in place, reconnected the wires and put it all back together. Case, and door, closed. By the way, getting my part from PartSelect was very easy.
the valve stuck closed - no water would enter the machine
remove vanity panel disconnect copper supply line from valve remove valve mounting screws rotate valve to access hose clamp loosen clamp and slide up rubber tubing about 2 inches pull hose off barbed fitting and remove old valve reverse order with new valve
Old pump impeller (internal to pump/motor part) snapped into place, but snapped out of place after warranty.
Disconnected power. Removed bottom spray arm and strainer. Siphoned out remaining water. Removed hoses and two mounting screws on pump. Removed wires. Removed pump.
took the door off after several failed attempts, which is easy to do - 2 scews. Then it was easier to find the channel the gasket fits into.
For all Frigidaire diswasher owners, after taking the door off, I realized it was the seal around the soap dispenser that was leaking, due to stripped screws, not the gasket. I rigged it with silicone caulk, but may have to replace that - looks easy, .
Tenant in one of my rental properties stole the lower dish rack from dishwasher
PartSelect provided the perfect place to order the parts I needed. Illustrated parts breakdown on PartSelect was excellent and the correct part(s) were identified and ordered with no difficulty. I would recommend PartSelect to anyone.
I foloowed the others who repared the same item. I really appreciated their help and input. The only thing I would add is when they said that you only have to remove the bottom 2 screws on the inside of the dishwasher door they are absolutely correct. But don't look on the very bottom of the door like I did. They are on the inside of the door, facing inside. The bottom screw on each side. Thanks for all the help.
