Auto water stopped working, found that filter needed replacement
Unscrewed old cartridge, ordered new cartridge, installed new cartridge by following very simple instructions. Took only one day for part to arrive from PartSelect although I paid for cheapest shipping, which was "ground." I was amazed!
I only had to remove the old filter and install the new one - all by hand. I then ran about 1 to 1and1/2 gallons of water through the filter to clear it. A WORD OF CAUTION - HOLD YOUR GLASS CLOSE TO THE WATER DISPENSER FOR THE INITIAL FILLING - IT WILL SPIT UNTIL THE AIR IS PURGED FROM THE SYSTEM!!! An extremely easy repair.
The shelve had broke do to the weight of the milk gallon - the design is poor - it’s the second time we have had to replace! The shelve cracks under the continued weight - bad design!
TOOLS NEEDED ARE A #2 PHILLIPS, A FLAT TIP SCREWDRIVER AND SOAP AND WATER FOR CLEANING OF THE VEGETABLE PAN COVER.
1. REMOVE BOTH VEGETABLE PANS. 2. REMOVE THE VEGETABLE PAN COVER BY SLIDING IT FORWARD ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO LIFT IT UP AND OUT. 3. USING THE PHILLIPS SCREWDRIVER REMOVE THE 2 SCREWS HOLDING THE RAIL TO THE CASE. 4. IF THE REAR PART OF THE RAIL IS BROKED OFF AND STILL IN THE WALL OF THE FRIDGE (LIKE MINE WAS) REMOVE IT WITH THE FLAT TIP SCREWDRIVER BY PRYING IT OUT OF THE SQUARE HOLE . USE SOME PRESSURE IF NEEDED. 5. INSERT THE REAR PART OF THE RAIL (LOOKS LIKE A LANCE) AND PUSH IT IN ALL THE WAY TILL IT STOPS. 6. THE PHILLIPS SCREWDRIVER ANCHOR THE RAIL TO THE WALL OF THE FRIDGE FIRMLY, NOT TOO TIGHT. 7. USING THE SOAP AND WATER, CLEAN INSIDE OF THE FRIDGE AND ALL PARTS REMOVED. 8. LAY THE VEGETABLE PAN COVER ON TOP OF THE RAILS AND SLIDE IT BACK TO LOCK IN PLACE. 9. INSTALL THE VEGETABLE PANS. 10. WORKED FINE, LOOKS FINE AND LASTS A LONG TIME.
Show how to fix it on YouTube so that helped a lot. I ordered a new spring gave all the correct information and the spring was too big that showed up lol so had to go to Plan B an modified the broken spring lol works great now
Partselect made the repair process incredibly easy by linking a how-to video that explained exactly what to do. Without the video, I was trying to take the whole washer apart, but the video noted a convenient opening that provided easy access. This is my second experience with Partselect, and I am definitely a fan. How you can maintain a stockpile of parts for so many appliances (as well as providing installation guidance for at least some items) is remarkable. Thanks.
Icemaker worked except for warming coil which prevented ice from releasing into tray
Replacement ice maker was plug in unit, only needed to remove one screw holding plastic plate that hid plug and wiring. Plugged it in and reattached plate with screw and done!
Hardest part of repair was getting frig. away from cabinets to unplug it. Turn off water to ice maker. Phillips's screwdriver to take off the cover of the electrical connection to the icemaker tip it outward. I used flat head screwdriver to help disconnect the connection. Also, to help getting the old icemaker removed. Once removed returned New one the reverse of taking it out. Won't need screwdriver to get it back in place. Put cover back in place and put the Phillips screw back in place. Plug refrig. back in. put it back in place turn the water back on should be good to go! BE afew hrs. before ice starts to show up! Good Luck
