i took the front of the dryer control panel off. then the switch is right there, the way its made all you have to do is unplug the wires and the switch is made to just turn it to the right and it comes right out. then do the same to put back in reverse. real easy with the partselect parts. they work will good. Thanks James
Before I bought the new knobs, I put nail glue inside each knob to strengthen the knobs. It lasted for about 6 mos and I would have to do it again. Needless to say I got tired of the broken knobs, so I bought new ones.
When I got the knob in the mail, I opened up the package, made sure the knob was identical to the broken one and pressed the new knob into place. I needed no tools to put the new knob on. It was easier than I thought.
Once I found your web page things went very smoothly and quickly. It was exactly what I wanted and it even came a day early. Obviously, no problem with the repair just put the knob in place.
I called the repair man for an evaluation. Upon examing the dryer, he termined that the dryer was broken from the inside. So, he advised me to order another timer knob.
Actually, my 18 year old son opened package and placed knob on dryer. Absolutely no problems In fact, company shipped quickly and accurately' very impressed with how easy this repair was.
The knob to start my dryer broke about a year age. I was using pliers to start the dryer. I was sure I would never find a replacement part and it was just a matter of time before the plier trick would break the start knob. I decided to look on line for a replacement knob sure that I wouldn't find one. Clicked on PartSelect, enter General Electric dryer and a bit more simple info and there was the part I needed. This site has everything. My dryer is good as new. Thanks PartSelect
I ordered the rear bearing kit from the local supplier here in Marsh Harbour, Abaco the Bahamas. Delivery for the kit was 3 to 4 weeks from my local supplier.NOT PARTSELECT. While waiting I found this site and after reading the VERY helpful instructions from your customers, I realised that I would probably need additional parts, top and bottom front felt seals, maybe a new drive belt. I ordered these online and had the parts deliverd to a friends address in West Palm Beach Florida. The parts arrived in about 2 days. My wife was already there and brought the parts back.
Installation was very straight forward. Read the other installation reports and you will not have a problem. The only thing I can add is, DO NOT LOOSE THE SMALL BALL BEARING. I did and it took me about an hour to find it. My suggestion is to do a dry run installation of the bracket WITH OUT the small ball bearing. Tape the backing plate?that keeps the ball breaing inplace to the outside of the back panel with duct tape so that the screw hole will line up. Once this is done put some grease (Supplied with the kit) in the hole on the nylon bracket and attach with the two screws, do not over tighten. Grease up the area where the rear bearing shaft support will sit.
Installation of the rear bearing shaft support was straight forward. This is on the dryer drum. Extra hands are must for this.
I was very pleased with Partselct. Dryer works like new.
