No crushed/cubes from icemaker
We took the icemaker apart, and took pictures of how it looked before so we knew how to put it back together, we were really surprised how easy it was to put back together, I will be ordering other parts from this company, I got my part in 1-2 days by Fedex, I will be telling others about this company
This was not a hard repair. Just remove all the screws and slide out the old Auger drum. It is always good to take a picture first incase you have any problems putting it back together. Be careful to put the ice crushers back in the same order and make sure you look at how the "door spring" connects before pulling it apart.
First I removed the 6 screws and then 2 more--being carefull to take cap off inside to nremove metal blades--be sure to keep in order--taking ba digital picture helps at this point--make sure to put back nin reverse order after replacing washer and new auger--went smooth thanks appliance parts repair service forum--Rick--Enjoy your own repair!!!

I noticed that the refrigerator was having trouble maintaining temperature. Thought it might be time for new one until I found out that a new frig was $5k to $7K. Just happened to notice that the light switch didn't look quite right (was not sitting sqaure to the door). Once I pressed it it came loose. I then realized the the lights were staying on (50 watts of heating). Replaced the switch and the frig started working like new.
Once I removed the ice bin from the freezer section of refrigerator and removed all the necessary screws was able to remove the auger drum, but had some difficulty in reinstalling the crusher blades in the dispenser. After several tries, got it right and dispenser is performing like new.
I began by removing the ice maker and storing the ice. The part did not come with instructions so I began taking the ice maker apart. I ran into problems rather quickly so I went to the "part select" web site and there was a video with instructions on removal and reinstallation of the auger. It was a breeze after that. These guys are obviously professionals!
The auger drum had detached from the shaft (broke off).
I removed the external shaft that controls the ice grinder. Its spring loaded so you have to remember how to get it back together. I removed the screws that hold the cover in place. I removed the nylon nut that holds the drum and grinder on the center shaft. I replaced the drum and reversed the procedure.
My owners manual said to unplug fridge from elec outlet, use a kitchen knife to gently pry off the switch plate (manual had a pictoral example), unclip the two wire, replace with on new switch and replace the switch. Close door and plug back in. Open door to check that the lite works. Walla! It did. Thanks!
