oven wouldn't heat because coil had burned through
The part was delivered in 24 hours with regular shipping and was simple to replace. Uncrewed it, disconnected wires from the old one and connected the new one. Cost a little more than $30 including shipping and the oven works great!
First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. Removed the old piece and connected the wires to the new piece. I'm a woman and this took me less that 15 minutes to complete. Easy as pie. On top of that, I received my order within 3 days! When I told my husband I ordered the part and was going to fix it myself, he laughed and said I might not have ordered the right part for the problem and I should just buy a new stove. The part was delivered the day before Christmas, just 3 days after I placed the order! I had read the stories of others fixing theirs and gave it a shot. It took me longer to find the tools then it did to replace the element! I took the screws out , pulled the element toward me and disconnected the wires. Put it back the way I found it. Oven heated up in less then 5 minutes!
After being invited to my mom's house for supper, the oven lower baking element had shorted out and self destructed.
After supper, without biscuits, I removed the element by simply removing 4 screws with my nut driver. We went home and I immediately went online to your web site, inserted the old element part number, followed the ordering instructions, and in 3 dayd the new element had been delivered to our door. Several days later we were invited to mom's for dinner once again. I quickly installed the new element (perfect fit and works great) and enjoyed a great supper........with biscuits this time. First observed the situation to determine if I should try and repair. I decided I could and should. Got the element and proceeded. I first turned the power off at the circuit breaker to cut the electrical power to the stove then I removed the two screws that holds the unit in place and then pulled unit out to where I could see the wire connection; removed the two screws on the wire connection and replaced the old element with the new element. reinserted the unit back into position and replaced the two screws that holds the unit in the stove. Turned power back on and tested the oven for any problems. Stove is working great.
I first removed the two hex head screws, pulled the element slowly forward about four to five inches and disconected the two wires on the old element. I removed the old element and attached the wires to the new element. I then slowly pushed it back into the rear wall of the oven, carefull not to disturb the insulation around the opening and replaced the two screws that hold the element to the back wall of the oven. It was easy enough to do, even for a woman. I turned on the oven and it worked great. No problems so far.
First, I removed the burner from the box and plastic bag. Second, I pushed the burner into the socket and that was it. I also want to comment on how easy the ordering process was. I ljust love this website. All you have to do is type in the model number and up comes all of the parts associated with the appliance. My order shipped the next day and I had unit within 2 days. Also, the part cost $42.00 with shipping. My local parts place was $48.00, so I wound up saving $6.00 and did not have to leave my home to buy it. I will definetly use this site again.
Could not believe how fast the part shipped. 2 days and it was here. All it took was using a nut driver to remove 4 screws and then put the new one in.
My 17 year old son and I (his mom) replaced the oven element in less than 15 minutes!!! It was so easy. We first unplugged the stove since I didn't want to go and shut off the circuit breaker in the dark!! We then removed the two screws that hold the element in place and started to pulled out the element. It was actually corroding in my hands as I pulled it out. We disconnected the wires and then put in the new element by reconnecting the wires, pushing the connections back in and replacing the two screws that hold the element in. The oven heated right up!!! What a savings to do it yourself and not have a repairman charge us extra to do a 10 minute job!! Thank you Part Select for your fast service. I will definitely look here before I shop anywhere else. First shut off power to the store and used a socket set to remove 2 screws and disconnnect the element. Connected the new element but had to use the old screws as the new ones did not work with my appliance.
Turned off power. Removed oven racks. Removed the 2 screws that held the element in place. Pulled element out about 3 in. & disconnected 3 wires. Placed new element, reconnected 3 wires & reconnected the 2 screws that hold element in place. Turned power back on & it works great!!. Was very pleased at how easy it was & also how fast I received the part, which was day after I ordered it.
Everything was very easy: identifying the right part was very easy on the website, the part came quicker than I expected, and my wife replaced the stove element before I even got home from work. She just pulled the old one out like she would to clean the top of the stove, and put the new one back in. Have had several awesome cups of coffee since the replacement.
Turn off power Open Oven Door, remove racks Remove two mounting screws with nut driver. Slide the element out to expose the wire connections. Remove the screws and pull the element out. Place the new element in oven. Clamp on to each of the terminals with vice grips to keep from bending the element and install the screws. Slide the element back into place and put the two mounting screws back in.
Put the racks back in and turn on the power and test. You may get a little smoke off the new coil.
Like I said the hardest part is leaning into the oven to attach the screws, do not sit on the oven door.
