Keep searches simple. Use keywords, e.g. "leaking", "pump", "broken" or "fit".
Ice cube door would not close pr0perly
Because of the design change of the door hinge it was more difficult to slide the pin into the door and spring. I used an allen wrench to hold it in place on the left side so I could slide the pin in the right hole. Then removed the allen wrench so I could slide the pin all the way. I was very impressed with the time that it took to get the kit. I ordered it about 1:30PM and the following day I had the kit delivered by 6PM. FANTASTIC SERVICE!
Weight of the produce bin with the contents inside had cracked the tracks
First I removed the tracks from each side of the metal rack. Very easy using your hands to slide the tab until the part falls away.
Next I inserted the track into the tab position and snapped it into place.
Warning, dont let your kids pull the produce bin out all the way to the end of the track as it will bend and then finally crack like mine did, but thankfully an easy fix using the PartsSelect.com web site with their easy to navigate parts illustration list and manual.
The door shoot plastic had cracked allowing air to get into the freezer compartment.
I unplugged the fridge, removed the face plate on the front, disconnected the power feeds, unscrewed the electrical panel and moved it out of the way. I then dismantled and removed the broken part and installed the new part. I was able to use the rest of the existing parts to get the job done. I put everything back together, and voila! it works great.
Removed ice bucket and discovered the auger drum was broken.
After I received the new part, I removed the front screws of the ice bucket, removed the clip that held the auger and other parts together, and then slide each part off the auger until I got to the broken drum.
Assembly was in reverse except you must pay attention where all the spacers and ice crusher bars go back into the original position. This was the most difficult step.
Works great now, crushed and cubed ice dispenses thru the door like new.
Pulled out the ice bin and dumpted ice in the sink. Use 1/4 inch nut driver to take out all 1/2 inch screws. Be careful to watch how door spring and holder goes. Pull assembly apart and remove alger. Plastic nut on end of alger has reverse threads, remove it and then remove broken alger drum. Replace with new drum and reassemble in reverse order.
Detached the broken ice guide by expandong the opening bewteen the tabs with my hands. Installed the new ice guide and pressed into place. Took about 3 minutes.
took the auger off and baffle replaced the baffle put every thing back together installed back to the freezer tried it out it dont work have to tear into the the motor which works the auger to see if anything else is broke.
Emptied door of food jars etc. Used socked on top plate. Removed door and placed on a flat surface. Used socket to take out cam on the bottom of the door. Replaced worn cam. Replaced nylon sleeve on the top of the refrigerator door with needle nose pliers. Placed door in the bootom slot with the new cam in place. Placed top plate in the new nylon sleeve on the door. Replaced screws with socket wrench.
I cut strips from the old slides, super glued them onto the new slides as stiffening where the old slides had broken. This was the 4th set of slides I had installed, a real Whirlpool design fault! I then sild the new pieces into the clips, and away we go!!
1. Pull out drawer. 2. Remove screws to release the auger. 3. Unscrew the end of the auger. 4. Pull parts off. 5. Replace drum. 6. Replace parts in the correct order. 7. Twist end of auger back on. 8. Replace unit onto drawer and install mounting screws. 9. Place drawer in freezer. 10. Test ice dispenser. 11. Watch kitten run to refrigerator and beg for ice cube. 12. See smiles on family members faces.
1. Put pieces of wood under door to support it. 2. Unscrew three screws holding door hinge. 3. Disconnect water line. 4. Unscrew screw holding each cam. One to door and one to hinge. 5 Replace cams. 6. Retrieve plate with threaded holes behind frame that the hinge attaches to. 7. Use thin philips screwdriver through the hinge bracket, shim, frame and screw plate to align it for the other two screws. 8. Replace all three hinge screws. 9. Connect water line fitting. 10. Remove wood for door support. 11. Check door for smooth movement and strong pressure when closed.
