There were 4 zip ties holding old silverware basket on to bottom rack snip them, remove basket install new basket with zip ties both ends 2 more in middle about 1-2” apart. Try to install ties about 1/2 way up on basket so it doesn’t get top heavy.
Dishwasher hose had hole in it. It was 23 years old.
After getting a totally incorrect length of hose from partselect.com . Went to local hardware store and bought hose for $3.00 vs $20.99 + $10 shipping! Partselect sent replacement hose of 24 1/4” vs the original hose of 27”. Good luck getting any response from them once they have your money!
water coming out around the middle of the bottom of the door
I followed directions from a video on this site and written directions in order to make the repairs. Pulled out the old gasket from one end with pliers . I cleaned out the slot in the door of any food or dirt and replaced with the new gasket. It was a very easy and quick repair that allowed me to use my dishwasher quickly. Thanks for the help.
Replacing the door bottom gasket is a breeze, just grasp with a needle nose pliers and pull out. I positioned a small mirror inside the dishwasher so I could see where the gasket fit back in. I pushed the new gasket into the slot and ----done. The springs require that the dishwasher be pulled out from its opening after removing the screws holding it into the cabinet at the top of the dishwasher. Replacing the springs is easy, just remove the old ones from the the bottom frame holes and the plastic holder and put the new ones on through the plastic holder and then into the frame. Push the dishwasher back into its opening, square it with the cabinet and reinstall the mounting screws.
Removed two screws on each side, lower half. Inside, removed six screws. Replaced the assembly and replaced all screws. Not worth the fifty dollars for the part, just to have a door open at the right time to empty soap. Quite a hefty price to pay considering the price of the machine
Well, first of all I want to thank you for letting me know there were two springs and also for showing the two springs because I had almost ordered from another site the official Frigidare site which did not show the other spring, the right one. I would have ordered the wrong spring. I got a spring from you with shipping (very fast Fed-X) for the price of their spring alone. Also, your site was very helpful in explaining how to put it on and advised to get two which I intended to but only ordered one, It was so easy. Beaucoup thanks!
The gasket on the bottom of the door was easily removed by pulling it out after mobilizing it with a long nosed pliers. The replacement fit well and was easily pressed back into the groove the previous one came from. Much of this has to be done by feel rather than sight because the edges of the gasket can be seen--but the middle is difficult to see because of the structure.
