Food compartment not cooling, freezer working well.
Fantastic! Sent in a brief description of problem and model number. Reply and description of other customers experiences guided us to the exact problem. We ordered the part on Friday and it was here on Tuesday. I prepared the freezer compartment for the removal of the old motor and on Sunday husband installed new Evaporator Fan Motor.
It works and is cooling like it did when it was new.
This has been a great experience as all repairmen wanted at least 60.00 to just come out and determine what the problem was. I can only imagine what the final bill would have been.
No shelf in Freezer compartment though obvious slots provided.
Used model # of frigidaire on your web site... reviewed parts available... noticed shelves abailable... zoomed in to measure using crosshatch background... measured my freezer compartment... seemed doable... ordered shelf... receivednext day... attempted to slip in slots... had to grind off 3/16th inch on two legs... slipped in... Perfect!
The meat pan hanger broke because it is made of plastic
I removed the glass shelf from the refrigerator to see how the plastic part was attached. I found a phillips head screw holding the piece in place in the back. I easily removed the screw and removed the broken piece. I then attached the new piece with using the old screw. ( a new screw was not included with the part.) Now it works like a charm.
Simple switch repair: Unplug fridge, pull down to remove switch assembly, slip contacts off. Reverse with replacement switch. HOWEVER, check first to see if the bulb filament might be broken, as this could cause the same symptom. OR in my case, the light socket connection was the culprit. Check that too before ordering a replacement switch.
The site offers a video for this part which worked perfectly. In addition to replacing the part, since the cardboard panel was off, we also cleaned all the dust off of the coils which someone recommended to do annually.
took door off to see damage / what caused it . put door back on with temporary fix. / looked up parts online / ordered parts online. received parts very quickly. removed doors again, put on repair parts , tested - ok now.
