Broken door shelf retainer bar.
The retainer bar was missing from a refrigerator in our rental property. A tenant had broken it and thrown it out. I found the model # on the appliance and looked up the parts diagram on the PartsSelect website and found what I needed. I placed the order one day and had the parts 2 days later! Unpacking was the hardest part. The parts just snapped together to make up the complete retainer unit. Then I just fit the unit onto the formed clips on the door shelf. I'd cosider this a " simple" job.
These were easy pop in pieces so no tools were needed. Very easy and quick. What I liked best about PartSelect.com was the pictures and labeling used in order to select the correct part. That was my biggest concern. It only took me about 15 minutes to find and buy the parts I needed.
I installed new end caps brackets with bars by putting them in place. Now the refrigerator looks new again. These parts were installed in the door, which was broken/missing. This prevented a person from being able to store anything in the refrigerstor door until it was fixed.
it was great. I ordered the capacitor for my frigidaire frig and it arrived in 3 days. plugged in the part to the compressor and my frig has been working ever since. I spent 3 minutes ordering the part and 30 seconds attaching it to the frig. Easy, very easy. saved myself a 75 dollar repair visit. thanks
Not long after we bought this fridge, the plastic on the light switch cracked, making the lever stick out too much so that the door wouldn't close. It's been taped down ever since. I simply pulled the old switch out and plugged the new one in. I'm kicking myself that I didn't do this ages ago. It was so easy and now I can see inside my refrigerator again.
Six of the end caps and four retainer bars were missing on the refrigerator and freezer doors
Basically we put the end caps in place and then inserted the retainer bar into one of the end caps and measured the length needed to make it fit the other end cap. The three shelves in the refrigerator door were the same length. So we measured each one, cut to the correct length and then installed each one. The freezer retainer bar was shorter but we followed the same procedure used for the refrigerator door. It took less than 30 minutes to do all five shelves. It was very simple and easy to install.
old switch would catch door not allowing it to close.
Unplugged frig. removed old switch with the aid of screw driver. removed wires and taped; plugged frig. back in and waited for new one. new one came, unplugged frig.removed tape from wire clips plugged in to switch and pushed switch into socket hole and plugged frig. back in; shut door, works like a new one.
When my side by side Kenmore refrigerator quit keeping the top half of my freezer and refrigerator cold I called Sears to see how much it would cost to get it checked out and fixed. Bottom line it was going to cost minimum $65 (which was just for him to come out) to $250 on up depending on what the problem was. So i decided to "do it myself"! I took it apart and within a few minutes figured out that it was my evaporator fan. So I went to sears to order the part based on the part number and with shipping and handling it was going to cost $125. While at sears I got on one of their computers and quickly looked up Kenmore parts and partselect.com came up and I quickly found the part for $62 and I chose overnight delivery and spent a total of like $83. When my part arrived I realized that the wiring/plug ins didn't quite match up. So I got online and went to their website and found a video for "do it yourself'ers" like me on how to splice the wiring to make it match. It took me about 20 min to splice the wire and put my refrigerator back together and IT WORKED! Easy easy easy and I saved moocho bucks! Ill never pay a repairman again. Oh and by the way, I am blond! :-)
thanks to all of the people who had the same problems I was able to make a quick fix on my fridge. I pulled the back cover off and found the compressor not kicking on so I replaced the start cap. and im back in bussiness.
Shelf bracket inside of freezer door broke/cracked off
Thrilled to realize I didn't have to replace the entire bracket ($$) but was able to buy this inexpensive end cap, remove the cracked one and snap this new one in place. Inexpensive, fast and easy as pie. No tools needed. Good as new.
I was thrilled to find out I could order the parts so inexpensively and easily from Part Select! The shipping was FAST! No tools required, just snapped in and done!
