Just follow youtube examples. Work in freezer. Troubles was I didn't fix the problem. Experts say thermostat is the best one to replace (53%). Anyway they are not always right.
Not so good that was not the problem. Fan is not seized and all the lights work and display is not on but lights up as well. No start once plugged back in after 15 minutes of being unplugged. Nothing same no change.
I spent several hours defrosting the unit. Making sure the vents were all defrosted and free of ice. The part replacement is fairly straight forward; remove the thermostat, cut two wires, reconnect the wires following color codes, attach to coil and restart. And, "Yippie!". Nothing. Zilch. Zero. Because I could not connect with the online repairman, I spent 40 bucks for nothing; problem was not resolved. Thanks for taking my money. I'm bummed and with just a little less money in my pocket. Never again will I ever purchase another Whirlpool product. Or buy from your outfit again (because of the over priced part). I replaced a 25 year old 'working' General Electric fridge for this junk that sat in the warehouse for four years before this was delivered to me in 2018 and sold to me as a "new" appliance. This was found out only when it crapped out and I needed to have it checked out for repair. Oh yea, I only had the comment section and the part recommendation to go by, and the latest comments are at least two years old. I'll be surprised if this even gets posted.
Everything went as planned except the cold temperature (freezer door switch located inside freezer) made deflection of the switch locking tab difficult to remove. Letting the switch warm up was not an option.
Refer lights not working, there are two lights and neither worked. Decided the switch was the problem.
The switch fix but did not fix the problem. I assumed the wires go on the same way as on the old switch. Is it possible if one light Burns out, the other will not work either?
Got resistance values from partselect. Coil was not in range. I remove rear cardboard cover, shut off water. Valve located on right side rear. Hoses are quick release. Unplug wire harnesses.
Bottom plastic door cam on side-by-side frig worn, and door stop bracket broken.
1. Removed 2 screws on top hing. 2. Easily lifted door and place on table. 3. Removed set screw for door cam. 4. Removed stop bracket. 5. Reversed steps 4 thru 1.
When tightening top 2 screws, make sure door gap is consistent and top of frig door aligns with the top of the freezer door.
NOTE: The lady at PartSelect who helped me with my order was great. Took the time to verify my parts. Prior to this I had bought the part from a nearby appliance parts store. They sold me the wrong part, even though I showed them a picture of my model number plate b4 ordering. In the future, I will always go to PartSelect for my appliance part purchases.
