I have an older freezer that started to defrost. I would hear the compressor click on quickly and repeatedly. I changed the thermostat control and it worked well for about a week, week and a half. Now the compressor is kicking on and off repeatedly again and defrosting the food. Could I need to replace the relay? Or what other part should I look at replacing?
For model number FFU14K1CW0
Hello Marlena, thank you for your question. If your refrigerator is short cycling, it can be caused by a number of issues including: An incorrectly set thermostat inside your refrigerator. Dirt and dust on the coils that prevents efficient operation. Faulty capacitors or relays that prevent the compressor from staying. You may need to replace the Freezer Compressor Start Relay Kit PS9492466. Good luck with this repair.
