This rear shroud assembly attaches to the back of your trimmer to protect you from any debris and keep the structure of the housing together. It is made entirely of plastic. Featuring various vents on each side of the assembly and the starter mechanism, including the recoil spring, pulley, and starter rope, this rear shroud assembly attaches with 6 screws that are sold separately. If the rear shroud of your trimmer is broken, warped, or improperly fitted, it is recommended you replace it to avoid safety hazards for you and future issues within the trimmer. To replace the shroud, unscrew the old shroud from your trimmer and remove it, and screw the new shroud to the trimmer to install it.
