Help! How do you remove the top bearing asm to access the interior light bulb holder and door switch?
For model number GFDS140ED0WW
Hi Tim,
Thank you for your inquiry. Before beginning any repair, unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet. To change the interior lamp inside your dryer, it is located usually dead center at the top at the front. If the bulb is burned out it is simply a matter of just removing the bulb with 3 or 4 turns. If the bulb is broken where the glass is broken off the bulb you will have to fabricate a tool to remove it. The bulb should go in at a 45 degree angle. Once the old bulb is removed screw in the new one, plug the dryer in and the new bulb should work for you. If you need more assistance, there is a video listed under part number PS10063224 that you may find helpful. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
Help! I need to replace the door switch for my model. The door switch is located in the front panel. In order to access the switch, i believe i need to remove the "upper bearing asm". Please provide instructions on how to remove this part so i can replace the switch. Thank you!
For model number GFDS140ED0WW
Hello Tim,
Thank you for your question. All you have to do is push down on the top middle of your bearing to remove the tabs that are keeping the part locked in place on the front panel. However, to replace your door switch you should not need to remove your top bearing. There is an opening big enough for you to just replace the part. Here is an installation video from our website: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PplQ8nYObrE . Good luck with your repair.

I purchased the top bearing assembly pn: Ps8756895 and was not able to get the tabs to snap back in place while staying on the outer lip of the door. Should i remove the complete duct trap assembly and put it on as one whole piece? I watch a youtube video but his tabs were closer together and the metal had more give than my model. Any help is appreciated.

Hi Shea, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately this is all the information we have on that installation: All you have to do is push down on the top middle of your bearing to remove the tabs that are keeping the part locked in place on the front panel. However, to replace your door switch you should not need to remove your top bearing. There is an opening big enough for you to just replace the part. Does the top bearing assembly come with the earring slides and bearing guides? Does it also include the two felt tabs as well?
For model number GFDS140GD0WW
Hi Chad,
Thank you for your question. The drum bearing slides, part numbers PS4704230 and PS16762550, and the felt kit, part number PS11729231 are sold separately. You will need 2 each of the drum bearing slides. We hope this helps!
