how to test switch # 316305100, re: will not turn off, stays on high. ty k
For model number EI30EF45QSA
Hi Kathy, thank you for getting in touch. To test the range switch, part number PS8746740, you may need to do a continuity test with a multimeter. Turn the dial to the maximum heat setting, and set the multimeter to the ohms or resistance. Now check for continuity between the L1 and H1 terminals. The multimeter should display a reading between 0 and 1 ohm. Then check from L2 to H2. If there is no reading and no continuity in either test, then the switch is faulty and will need to be replaced. The issue you are facing is most probably because of the faulty range switch. We hope this information helps!
