Is the damper control the only thing that freezes the refrig food? Is there a video to see how to replace this part?
For model number RS25J50
Hello Joy, thank you for contacting us. If your refrigerator is freezing food, then we would recommend checking the temperature sensor, evaporator fan motor, and control board. We have found some relevant instructions for you to replace the damper assembly, part number PS5136341, for your model. They may not be of the exact same model but they will help you with the installation. You may follow the following steps to replace the assembly:
1. Remove the two crisper drawers as well as the pantry drawer and use the small flathead screwdriver to depress the tabs to release the crisper drawer shelf assembly from the water filter housing.
2. Remove the shelf assembly and detach the left side pantry door mounting post from the left rail and remove the door. Now remove the pantry cover.
3. Remove the upper shelving to access the shelf support rail and cooling duct.
4. Use the phillips head screwdriver to unthread the two screws securing the water filter housing and support panel.
5. Detach the upper shelving support rail screw cover then unthread the upper and lower shelf support rail screws.
6. Next, unthread the two screws securing the cooling duct to the rear liner. Pull the cooling duct from the top to release it. Disconnect the two wire connectors to fully remove the cooling duct.
7. Release the retaining clips to detach the polystyrene insulation. Carefully peel the foam from the inner section of the insulation then separate the two sections. Release the wires from the cooling duct retaining clips and remove the old damper control assembly.
We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

Freezer has heavy frost around door and refrigerator freezes everything
For model number RS25J500DSR
Hello Edward, thank you for reaching out. We would recommend checking the freezer door gasket to ensure that it is not damaged. If the issue still occurs, you may need to check the temperature sensor, part number PS4138685, to fix the issue. We hope this helps!
