Every thing is working, but no heat for the food, could it possibly be the magnatron ? Please advise if possible, thank you frank simpson
For model number smh1816s
Hello Frank, thank you for your question. The magnetron could be the issue. We would recommend testing the diode and thermostat first, to rule them out and if they are not faulty the magnetron is the most likely issue. I hope this helps!

Samsung microwave not heating. Tested magnetron: across terminals resistance was 0.3 either direction. From either terminal to case it was usually 0. Does this indicate a bad magnetron?
For model number ME19R7041FS SAMSUNG
Hi Stephen,
Thank you for your question. Using a multimeter on Rx1, touch the probes to the terminals, this should produce a reading of two to three ohms of resistance. Next, move one probe to touch the metal housing of the magnetron. This test shouldn’t indicate that continuity is present. If the results of your test do not match the results above, you will need a replacement magnetron. If the magnetron is fine, you will need to check the diodes and the door switches. We have included a link that you may reference on how to check these parts. Once you have determined the part you need, please feel free to call customer service. We are open 7 days a week and anyone will be happy to assist you. We look forward to hearing from you!
The microwave stopped working while in use. What would cause the whole unit to shut down like this? Nothing works.

Hi Bruce,
Thank you for your question. I would suggest checking your thermostat and your fuse. Those would be the most likely parts to cause an issue like this. I would suggest checking both of those parts with a multi meter to see if they are working correctly. I hope that helps. good luck with your repair.
