My ice maker puts too much water into the tray then dumps large chunks in the ice tray that then freezes together. What do i need?
For model number RF266ABRS
Hello Kenny, thank you for your inquiry. We would suggest testing your water inlet valve, PartSelect number PS4146610. If the port on this valve that supplies the water to the ice maker does not close properly, your ice maker may overfill, causing the issue you are experiencing. We hope this helps.

My ice tray broke and I ordered a replacement. How do I remove the motor head correctly to be able to install the replacement tray?
For model number RM255BARB
Hi Michael, thank you for contacting us. To replace the ice tray, we would suggest following these general instructions: Remove the screws holding the ice maker assembly on the top side. Press the tabs to remove the wires attached to the ice maker. Remove the screw holding the ice cube arm on the side. Then, detach the motor wire, pull down the tab holding the motor to the ice maker assembly, and slide the motor sidewise. The motor and tray will come off. Remove the cap holding the motor sensor. There is a little hook that will come off and the tray will be separated from the motor. We hope this helps, good luck with the repair!

What is the most likely reason the ice maker quit working
For model number RFG238AARS/Xaa
Hello Tom, thank you for contacting us. According to our research, we would recommend checking the water filter to ensure that it is not clogged. If it does not help, you may need to check the water inlet valve, part number PS4175393, to fix the issue. We hope this helps!
My icemaker is leaking & cubes are "wet" looking. I'm trying to find out if this replacement is an improved icemaker? I don't want to replace with the same problematic icemaker. Thanks, april
For model number RF323TEDBSR/AA
Hello April, thank you for your question. The part is an original manufacturer part, directly from Samsung. It hasn't been changed or updated, and we don't have any information that shows that there has been any particular issues with this icemaker, or that it was faulty. The icemakers are prone to failure in any brand unit. The part number DA59-00294B is for just the front module of the icemaker. If the icemaker is leaking and the cubes are wet looking the unit may be dripping water into the icemaker as the cubes are freezing. You should test the water inlet valve to be sure its completely shutting off after filling the icemaker and check the water line that runs to the icemaker to fill it. I hope this helps!
