This drain hose plug, also known as a hose cap, is a genuine OEM part for your washing machine. This plug caps the drain hose from the pump housing, and helps prevent leaks from your washer. Before beginning this repair, make sure the power and water sources to your washer are shut off. To access the pump housing, open the pump filter cover, pull out the drain hose, remove the old plug and replace it, first draining the remaining water from the drain hose.

Only needed a plug
I needed only a small plug. Both agents with whom I spoke did their best to help me, but the first part I received was a filter, not what I needed. The second agent sent the plug I needed and credited me for the filter. I was very impressed by the friendliness of both agents and happy with the solution to my problem.

Nothing technical with this
A simple nylon screw to plug the drain on a front mount washing machine. How tough can it be?

how do I install the drain hose
For model number wm205oc
Hi Bobby,
Thank you for your question. Here is a link to one of our YouTube videos that you may reference on how to install the drain hose, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzVxAStmJpk. The washer and drain hose in the video may appear different from yours, but it will give you a general idea on how to install the part. We hope this helps! Good luck with the repair!
Kenmore Elite front load washer has an air vent located on the back panel. When washing, it emits water and runs down the back of washing machine. I pulled off top plate, pulled off the rubber hose across the top of the drum, and checked the valve, cleaned it, and lubed it, but it still leaks water during the wash cycle. The machine is aprox. 10 years old. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time and assistance ... have a nice day.

Hi Richard,
Thank you for your question. If you are using too much concentrated soap, this will cause water to leak from the back of the washer. If you see soap in the water, then you are using too much soap or the wrong soap for your washer. Front load washers need HE soap. If you have any questions, please let us know. We look forward to hearing from you!

The small hose with a cap used to drain residual water from the machine has disappeared into the machine. The cap was protruding from the drain hole but it came out without the hose. The hose was previously clamped to the wall of the unit. How can I retrieve the hose?
For model number WM3270CW
Hello Pamela, thank you for the question. You will need to remove the washer front panel to access the drain hose. We hope that helps!
