Easy repair, solved the issue
I actually ended up ordering the three parts from PartSelect that were most likely to be the culprit of an ever-filling tub in my LG front load washer (because I didn’t have the time for trial and error). Though I don’t know if this was the part that solved the issue, it definitely didn’t hurt! Part was an exact match and installation was a breeze!

My LG washing machine drains continuously while filling with water also and gives me an error code of fe. I replaced the hot water inlet valve (part #LG 5220fr2006h water inlet valve) but it has not fixed the issue. It still drains and fills with water and gives me the same error code of fe. What part should i try next? I am thinking maybe the pressure switch?
For model number WM2801HRA
Hi Sharon,
Thank you for your inquiry. If your washing machine is filling and draining at the same time, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the water inlet valve and the water level switch. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

When i have a light load machine works fine. If i try a heavier load, the machine just keeps adding water. I mean a lot of water! Until it runs on the floor as it as leaking out the door.
For model number Wm8100hwa lg front load washer.
Hello Doug, thank you for contacting us. You will want to replace this Pressure Switch Assembly part number PS3598722 or either the Hot Water Inlet Valve part number PS3527427 or the Cold Water Inlet Valve part number PS11728995 for your model to fix this. I hope this helps and good luck with your repair!

Still showing ie code. Just replaced hot and cold water inlet valves. Will not work at all on warm or hot water but will sometimes work on cold the second time you attempt to wash.
For model number WM2655HVA
Hello Richard,
Thank you for your question. An IE error code indicates that the washer was unable to fill with water. During cold and freezing weather conditions, an IE error code could mean the water in the water supply lines are frozen. Once the temperature increases above freezing, the water supply will resume. Check the water line for any blockage via frozen spots and see if that is stopping the water flow. Hope this helps!

Washer is getting stuck before rinse cycle and displaying ie error code. Would the pressure switch fix the problem?
For model number WM3370HWA
Hello Dave, Thank you for the question. An IE error code indicates the washing machine is filling with water slowly or not at all. This can happen when water supply taps are not fully open or the water pressure to the tap or house is too low. This time of year depending on your location, it can also be a partially frozen water pipe. Other causes can be kinked, pinched or bent water lines, or clogged water inlet valve. I suggest checking the lines and the water pressure going to the appliance. If everything checks out good, you may have a defective water inlet vale. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!

LG front load washing machine roughly 13 years old When not in use the washer fills with clean water
My actual model number is WM2240CS
For model number WM2240CW
Hello Steve, thank you for contacting us. It means that the water inlet valve, part number PS11728995, has failed. One problem that may develop with a water-inlet valve is that it can no longer completely shut off when the electricity is turned off to it. Then, the valve may leak and drip water into the clothes tub. Good luck with the repair!
