This glass cook top cracked and was bought in Sept 2017. Does this happen or was it negligence. The tenant of the house said he put a pot on the cook top and heard it pop and crack. I don't know weather to believe him or not! Please advise is it worth ordering a new black glass top or ordering the whole new stove top appliance again. We appreciate you advice and reply.

Hello Debbie, Thank you for the question. The Cooktop in Black is PartSelect Number PS3490240. Please see the website for current price and availability. We have heard of this happening. Normally it is caused be a defect or even a small crack or chip in the glass. Once it expands so many times with the heat it can cause that Pop noise he heard and the larger visible crack. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!
