What would cause the main control board to fail?
Hi Al,
Thank you for your inquiry. An electronic control board can fail for any number of reasons. It is common for control board's components (capcitors, resistors, etc) to burn out due the high temperatures they experience. Also, sometimes the components may be poorly manufactured and they fail after a period of time. Environmental factors such as dust, moisture and temperature change can also cause issues with an electronic control board. And the age of the components can also cause issues with the operation of the control board. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Does the control board operate the cold food section lights? The bulbs, sockets, and door switches all test good.

Hello Bodong, thank you for writing. Based on your description, first replace the Refrigerator Inverter Kit with Jumpers part PS6883663. CONTROL CUSTOME Assembly part PS3487983. For more specialized assistance or to speak with someone about this, we would suggest calling a qualified technician or the manufacturer of the unit directly. Good luck with your repair.
The fan seems to be only operating at one speed (the manual seems to indicate multiple speeds)and takes hours for the unit to get to temperature. Does the board control the fan speed, or is this normal operating procedure?
For model number PFCS1NFZA SS
Hi Sean, thank you for your question. The refrigerator temperature is monitored by the temperature sensor, part number PS304103, which sends the temperature information to the control board. The fan motor is then run by the control board at a required speed according to the temperature requirements. If your unit is taking a very long time to get to the set temperature, the culprit might be the temperature sensor. Checking the temperature sensor for continuity using a multimeter might help. Good luck with the repair!
