I replaced the timer control upon initial failure. The replacement part failed, and today the second replacement failed. Assuming at least one of these replacement parts was good, what else would cause the timer control to fail? I suspect something associated with this part is what caused the problem in the first place. The timer resistor? Please advise, thank-you very much.
For model number GTDP200EF1WS
Hi Christopher, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing for resistance of the resistor. It should test 4.5K ohms. Hope this helps!

How do you check the timer resister. Is it supposed to have continuity? Every thing else checks ok
For model number dbsr463eg1ww
Hello Glen, Thank you for your question! The resistor must show 4.5K OHMs of resistance. I do apologize however we do not have instructions on testing this part. I suggest checking the the manufacturer directly! Good luck with your repair!

Hello....if your knob and post from timer is broke off, do you only need the knob, knob insert clip and timer? i see a timer resister but i cant tell what that is for. please help!
For model number DWXR463EG5WW
Hi Gina,
Thank you for your question. You are right, you would only need the timer, knob insert clip, and the knob itself. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Can you test a GE timer resistor
For model number Dsks433eb6ww
Hello Dennis, thank you for contacting us. You can test it for resistance with a multimeter. Set the multimeter on ohms and connect its probes to the terminals of the resistor. The reading should be 4500 ohms for a good resistor. We hope this information helps!

Dryer gets warm not as hot as it should. Timer does not advance in the Cotton (auto) setting. Could this be the Timer Thermostat, is it the resistor or the timer its self. The Element tests good. I have tested the timer thermostat but have no way of testing to see if it is tripping early.

Hello Larry, thank you for your inquiry. Based on our understanding of the issue, we would suggest replacing the timer, part number PS267933, to fix the issue. Glad to be of assistance!
GE dryer
Auto Cotton setting on timer over dryers the clothing
Timer in the auto cotton setting sometimes not advancing,
all other timer functions work. Do i need a new timer, or resistor or sensor that may be causing the issue.
thank you,
For model number NBXR453EV1WW
Hi George, thank you for reaching out. Based on our understanding of the issue, we would suggest that you check the timer, part number PS267933, as it is most likely faulty and may need to be replaced. We hope this helps!
I have no voltage across the timer motor, terminal c and terminal t, with the dryer running. Could this resister be the problem my timer isn't advancing?
Hello Billy, thank you for your question. Yes, it is certainly possible that part is causing the issue you described. I would recommend changing that part, or the timer itself. I hope this helps!

Dryer will not start, fuse is ok, start switch and door switch both have continuity across them. Timer has voltage but does not advance. So is it the timer or possibly the timer resistor.
For model number HTDX100ED6WW
Hi Jack,
Thank you for your question. The timer is one part you will need to check. There are some parts that you will need to check to see which ones are causing the issue. You will also need to check the interlock switch, the belt, the timer knob and the timer resistor. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

When i turn the dryer rotary switch, the dryer turns on. When i let go of the rotary switch, the dryer turns back off. Sometimes it will keep running, but most of the time it turns off. What part(s) do i need to repair this?
For model number DBB33OOEA1WW
Hi Bindu,
Thank you for your question. If the dryer is not staying on when you release the rotary start knob, then the issue is likely the switch and you will need to replace it. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
