Freezer compressor runs continuous and will not defrost. is the likely problem the temperature control or Thermistor?
For model number LFFH17F7HWD
Hello Neville, thank you for asking! Such issues are usually caused by the frosting of evaporator coils either because of a burned-out defrost heater or a defective defrost thermostat. When defective, these parts cause the frosting of evaporator coils. Due to frosted coils, air won't be able to pass through the coils and hence the cooling capacity gets reduced. To maintain the cooling capacity, the compressor will work harder. So, there are two parts to replace; the defrost heater, part number PS426768, and the defrost thermostat, part number PS2350702. Both or one of them is the culprit. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair.
