Soon after setting recommended temperature the settings automatically jump to a higher temperature. Will changing part #ps 66240 fix it?
For model number PGSS5NFZASS
Hello Roger, thank you for your question. If both the fridge and freezer jump to a higher temperature, yes, we would recommend replacing the temperature control board. Good luck with your repair!

Good morning, looks like my question is similar to andy's from 11/2018 but wanted to confirm. The display for temperatures for fridge and freezer stopped working and fridge starts beeping randomly like door is open. Fridge and freezer seem to be maintaining temperatures even with display not working. Do i need part ps1766240? Thanks for your help. Jeff

1. does part PS1766240 have a set of installation instructions? Other parts I've ordered from you did.
2. Symptom is that periodically (every week or so), freezer temperature reads -45 on the temp control board but actually goes up slightly above freezing. This lasts for 12 hours or so then the system returns to normal. I've replace the main control board and the temp sensor in the freezer and am now replacing the temp control board as you see. Is this symptom actually related to the defrost cycle and should I be replacing the defrost themostat as well?
For model number PFSF2MIYA BB
Hello Phil, thank you for your questions. No, part PS1766240 does not have instructions that come with it. However, you may be able to find them on Youtube. We do recommend you replace the thermostat PS1017716 as well as the board. Good luck with your repair.

We had a power outage and when the power came on again our fridge came on. But the control board for temperature and other options did not. Therefore, no cooling or freezing.Could it be fixed by replacing the control board?
For model number PFSF2MIYAWW
Hi Dannette, thank you for your question. When you are having temperature problems in your fridge, there are a few parts that could cause the issue. You can use a multi meter to test most of the parts. Make sure you cut power to your appliance before doing any repairs or tests. First you should test your defrost thermostat. Place the thermostat in ice cold water for 2-3 minutes after removing it from your appliance. It should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. Another part to check would be your defrost heater. Remove it from the appliance. It should be reading anywhere between 0 - 50 ohms to be working. You could check your temperature sensor. To find the correct reading for this part you will have to refer to your tech sheet that comes with your appliance. You can usually find this tech sheet behind the bottom grille of your fridge on either the right or left side. These are the most common parts that cause this issue in your appliance. So it is suggested you check them first. If those parts are testing fine then it may in fact be your control board that is the issue. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

THIS NEWLY INSTALLED ICE MAKER IN THIS UNIT PART#WR30X1009
IS ACTING ERRATICALLY SINCE INSTALL AND POWER UP. INSTEAD OF FILLING ICE TRAY IT FILLED TRAYS WITH WATER BUT IT DID NOT FREEZE INTO CUBES, INSTEAD WATER RAN INTO ICE TRAY AND FROZE. IS IT POSSIBLE, THOUGH KEYED, IS IT POSSIBLE POWER CONNECTOR IS PLUGED IN BACKWARDS?
For model number GNS23GGHBFWW
Hi Gordon, thank you for your inquiry. Water flow issues may be to blame. Check the fill tube behind the ice maker, and if it is frozen solid, use a hair dryer to thaw it out. You can also make sure it is not frozen by disconnecting the water line coming from the ice maker and going to the valve. Blow through the water line to make sure it is clear. If it is not frozen, you will need to replace the water inlet valve, part number PS16226572. We hope this information is useful!
Refrigerator and freezer not cooling when I unplug condenser fan compressor comes on do I need to control board or temperature control
For model number CFCP1NIYCSS
Hi Shaun, thank you for reaching out. Based on our understanding, we would suggest checking the evaporator fan motor, part number PS1019114, before replacing the control board or temperature control. It circulates air to the fresh food compartments for efficient cooling. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!
